Yellow Belt

Yellow Belt (2/10)

  1. Didn't Bruce Lee have a similar schedule for training not including the classes he tought aswell?
  2. The cost of living in this area is actually low. It is a collage/industry/ex-railroad kind of place that is trying to grow. The instructor has been a world champion at one point in his career. There are plenty of trophies at the school of his accomplishments. Which can mean nothing, or something I know. It does depend on what calue I place on his instruction. My sister-in-law has studied with him for many years and is currentley second dan. However she said that the belt system/fees has changed sinse she has had to pay them.(increased)
  3. $59 per month without any discounts. the cheapest monthley it works out to be is about $30 per month with a family discount and paying the year up front. First Dobok is free. Black Belt testing is once a year. Color belts once every two months.
  4. I've done some reseach. Been to several classes. I'm just curious what people think? How many people are ATA here? Or have been at one time. I'm not looking for a flame fest. I would ask that you respectfully post you opinions. Thanks!
  5. It does very much depend on the school that you attend for any version of TKD. However the WTF as a whole does not teach "point sparring" The ATA teaches "point sparring". The WTF teaches "olympic style" or "sport" TKD. One of the major differences being that "point sparring" is light to no contact. And "olympic" or "sport" style is semi to full contact. And as pointed out earlier the majority of schools will teach you what is appropriate for the ring and what is appropriate for self defence. You will find from time to time schools that just want to turn out tournament competitors. And thats ok. It takes all kinds to fill up this world we live in.
  6. Correct, traditional in the sense that the forms and style of TKD that was used when "TKD" was first coined.
  7. Happy day and howdie do! Welcome!
  8. I've been practicing on and off sinse about 1996. I love it! I'm not the best at it. But Its great fun!
  9. What do you think of his movies? His career? Before and after Tae Bo.
  10. And you could learn a few different styles but not master all of them. Leaarn different techs. from different masters around the mud. And from higher level characters.(not in the pleveling fashion, this would have to be a practice session.)
  11. If I could get my hands on some decent servers and a few good coders I would jump all over it. Heh, I'd learn code myself for that I think. I like the idea.
  12. And of course this is on top of their monthly rate of $59. (Not including any sparring equipment I'll probobly have to purchase.)
  13. I picked up an application for promotional testing from the school and their prices are as follows: white/yellow 11 kuep =$20 yellow 10 kuep=$30 yellow/black 9 kuep=$30 orange 8 kuep=$35 orange/black 8 kuep=$35 purple 7 kuep=$40 purple/black 7 kuep=$45 green 6 kuep=$50 green/black 6 kuep=$55 blue 5 kuep=$60 blue/black 5 kuep=$70 brown 4 kuep=$80 brown/black 4 kuep=$80 red 3 kuep=$90 red/white 2 kuep=$95 red/black 1 kuep=$100 1st dan $250 2nd dan $300 3rd dan $350 Add $5 if you want to keep the belt. What do you think?
  14. Do your instructors teach CDK under the WTF or through a CDK orginization like The CDK alliance? Most honestley I would like to take CDK TKD instead of the school I'm looking at now. Belasko, is the CDK alliance affiliated with the WTF? isn't there someone else here in town who teaches. One of Master LeBlancs students?
