White Belt

White Belt (1/10)

  1. In my old TKD school there were about 20 of them. About 15 of them were under the age of 12. And that's why I quit TKD.
  2. In my old TKD school it went White-yellow-green-blue-red-black
  3. Used basic boxing skills in many fights, the result was very good.
  4. I'm a boxer and I wanna start kicking soon. I did Taekwondo for two years, about 3 years ago. Even though I havent done it in 3 years I'm still accustomed to the taekwondo kick. I know the taekwondo kick and thai kick are very different, roundhouse kick that is. So can someone explain to me how to execute the thai kick. I see a lot of thai fighters hitting with the shin, is it ok to hit with the instep, since thats how I did it for so long? Thanks in advance, kickers.
  5. I'm pretty new to martial arts and I wanted to know about judo. I've seen some judo matches and it seems like all it is is takedowns. Is there any more to it, because it looks like the matches are over when someone gets taken down. Is there any ground fighting in judo? What kind of techniques are there? Thanks.
  6. I dont get it...
  7. No, it's strictly BJJ. That's why I'm taking boxing seprately, and starting kickboxing soon.
  8. I'm really leaning towards the no gi class. I cant take both... it's a financial thing because I have to pay for boxing training too. But the downside is the no gi class is only once a week.
  9. People are ignorant towards traditional martial arts, but respect things like boxing, wrestling, etc. Sad but true, it's just people being stupid.
  10. http://www.google.com/local?hl=en&lr=&safe=off&q=judo&near=Charleston%2C+West+Virginia&btnG=Search&sc=1&rl=1 Seems like you got some good options, and that's just judo.
  11. I've been wanting to get into grappling for a while, and I found a good looking BJJ gym nearby. So I was wondering, should I go for the gi class, or the no gi class? Does it really matter? No gi classes are only once a week, but gi classes are twice a week. So whats the deal grapplers? Help out an amateur.
  12. Muay Thai is great for combat and self defense. If thats not availabe good boxing training would be great.
  13. I look right at the chin.
  14. I'm a boxer and I've beaten 2 different karate black belts. Most of the time the boxer would win.
