I pay $50 a month for tuition and then per each test if we pass we pay $50 again no matter what belt. But we dont get the belt unless we passed and paid, and there are time limits on each belt too.

I wasnt trying to be mean when i said dont make manabi mad..lol I think i should tone it down he keeps pming me to chill out hahaha. -
the problem with children black belts and schools is they often times are hypocrits. when you ask thier school what should a black belt student be able to do or perform they give you this long list usualy and say anyone who was a lower ranking belt (brown) and that could fullfill these requirements and our test would be a black belt. Problem is sometimes you see a 12 year old with a BB!!! And most of the schools will say a Black Belt should know how to defend and fight off any attacker from the streets. I see even some 17 year olds with 2nd Dan's who can't fight thier way out of a wet paper bag and they are so weak they can't catch a cold. Bottom line, Either a MA school is there for Exercise, Sport, or Self Defense, or all of the above. So those masters should make sure thier BB tests and BB students can prove thierselves.

Dont make Manabi mad lol........=p No on a serious note my dojo is about 1 hour from Chesapeake, Ohio where Manabi's dojo is. I think its calle the Tri dojo or Tri City or something like that......anyways. My Master is a 6th Dan named Pat Jackson. He knows Grandmaster Casarez through Casarez's fame and reputation. It's a hard thing to be in thier dojo because Casarez works with all kinds of super famous celebs and stunt men teaching fighting coragraphs and I have personaly seen Chuck Norris, Dan the Beast Severn, and a few underfamous ufc type people at thier dojo in secret trainings. The problem is that everyone wants Casarez to write a book, or make videos because if you seen his style you would flip out, but Casarez refuses everything. Manabimasho1 who's real name is Brian, I hope you dont get upset Brian.......but anyways he has a rough time on forums like this because he is not there to provide you with demos, and he is not allowed to film them. He had to literaly beg his Grandmaster to place a few photos of thier class mates doing throws on the website. Because belive it or not thier way of throwing is very differnt from what other judo and jujitsu schools do. So Brian aka manabimasho1 along with his wife (who isn't a member on these forums I don't think) does alot of the work at their Dojo because thier Grandmaster is having heart issues. But they lost a few high ranking members because thier style is rough, and it hurt the future of thier style. I take Karate and when I am with Brian and Grandmaster Casarez in a demonstration its like learning how to fight all over again. And I have personaly asked Brian to show me how he did something that was amazing and he turned me down because his Grandmaster doesnt want "anyone" outside knowing the stuff unless he is there. Brian is very dedicated and a good student. Their trophies, claims, and all that paper work dont' do them justice. They will never be well known, and they must agree to keep it that way. There is also some agreement about not useing some of thier stuff in Fights that are broadcasts. I hope I didn't brag too much on you Manabimasho1.....he asked me in a PM to watch what I say, but I had to butt in here. -
Yeah Manabimasho1 has alot of information on him, I know Manabi in RL and in the late 80s he visited a ninja camp of Ashida Kim. manabi will probably get on here soon he hunts down all my posts and replies and i do the same...but Ashida was beaten by Manabimasho1 's master and manabi was like 14 at the time and got hits in on Ashida. they have a old video of it, and his Grandmaster was involved with Steven Hayes in taking Ashida kim down and his credits or lack thereof. anyways......ashida is actualy irish american, he is a goof ball and in person manabi is always laughing about him and that ninja camp. I would just burn all his books you have they are just novels and nothing more

years = skill and you are only in it for 1 year. there is no way you should even be shurggin off natural habits like being enraged yet. 1 year is not long enough to sometimes get the basics and do them in RL fights and no rule sparrs Ok....once again 1 year is not long enough to get the flexability or techniques down.......and there are no 16 year olds that can beat a serious 20 year old MA if they have around the same time in. The Childs mind doesn't pick up the seriousness of MA and reality. An Adult does and knows its a survival skill. A child can perform amazing kata's and demonstrations but in a RL fight I see them mess up and forget and the fear dump. An Adults biggest problem is not going into a rage and just beating down the other guy...keeping your head on straight in other words. A Childs biggest problem is fear and commitement to the punch or hit, or defense. Especialy against a bigger oppenant.

I agree with Manabi...... I think that in any barroom, or gang turf if you say outloud you are a Black Belt for any reason it brings them in on you like flies to crap. I am new here, and manabi said that he read where alot of people are claiming that if they tell an agressor they have a BB the agressor leaves..I would like to know where you people live at, because even though I am always positive and keep a open view on things , comments like those are just lies. In any situations if you say you take MA or are a BB you usualy end up getting hit. The idea of a 14 year old having anything over a green belt after a year shames the school in my opinon. What 14 year old boy or girl after 1 year can defend thierself against an adult attacker?

Hey fighter not a lover.....lol you are really getting around hehe.. Anyways Martial Arts to me orginaly was just a way to stay fit, but as I got higher in rank I began to get serious. I think that most students jump into it to be cool. learn something fun and neat, or for exercise. I know alot of very dedicated people that will tell you they got into it at first because they were even bored!!!!!! But it has taught me convidence and the meaning values of family and friendship. Our area has some dojos coming together in a friendship like pact and we meet often and do demonstrations at each others dojos for hours and then go cook out and have fun the rest of the day. To me community and learning how to be a good citizen was gained. I also am learning to take MA serious and craving to learn more now.

Hi, As a female student in the Martial Arts I thought I knew how to defend myself, but our school doesn't use realistic situations often times. My Master a 6th dan found another Master near us who has a very rough school. During a demonstration of how to break a choke I noticed that all thier schools students were actualy getting behind the students and choking them often pulling them back off thier feet, just when I thought to myself uh oh...I noticed WAM the choker was down and in a joint lock. When it was my turn I figured I would do as I was always trained by trying to elbow the ribs or stomach of the attacker and pull thier hands off then turn around with Kenpo Daggers....It failed horriably I tapped and nearly vomited. Since then I have realised that some schools don't teach realistic stuff, and if anyone ever tried to hurt me I will no longer be conserned about thier health or well being.
