    Nop. There are several weight categories.

    -85 Kg (Lightweight)

    -115 Kg (middleweight)

    + 115 Kg (heavyweight)

    Open ( any weight can compete).

    Now days many people die due to heart problems....but yes lots of sumo practitioners (Japanese mainly :karate: ) die before 50.

    In Europe and the rest of amateur sumo world, i believe not many follow de sumo 'diet' (except for the japanese because they also run in the amateur circuit). 90 % of amateur sumotoris are practitioners of grappling MA's ( Judo, Sambo, BJJ, Greco-Roman wrestling, etc...), so i beleive they eat normally.
