White Belt (1/10)

  1. Welcome to a new start friend, as white warlock said-Its liberating. Take a lesson from the bucket; as my grandmaster always says: Do not walk in with what you know and mix it with what your learning at the current moment, rather put what you have in another container-start new-then mix them later on. In other words, if your too busy using TKD thoughts to contradict what your learning you may mess up. I did this ALOT in Muay Thai when i went to it from TKD hahah. Any way, good luck and kick major platypuss rear
  2. Wow man kick butt, good freaking job. I gotta say, if i didnt read the "he took me down in a hammer lock" i woulda sworn you were gunna win. Congrats man, i hope you feal good about yourself cause thats one heck of a test you put up on yourself. Some people don't even wanna mount the mat.
  3. Sorry man, havnt heard of him. Might be something from Europe or even something farther out. Don't take it too much to heart though, he could be pretty dang good.
  4. I wish you luck my partner in MA. Ya never know bud, ya just might make it in and win.
  5. Attitudes like mine get people in trouble, so don't take anything i say to heart. My moral is, if the guy is attacking me, chances are it's my obligation to erase scum like him off the planet. I don't tolerate any excuses for any one to touch me in a harmfull manner. The best thing about martial arts as far as killing goes, is that the manner of the killing is such that A. Anything could have killed him or B. You not having a weapon on you/none beeing found at the scene with your fingerprints on it is alaby enough. Of course this is all in my city surroundings, so the situation might be different. Again, i DO NOT IN ANY WAY encourage people to kill on first breath.
  6. Welcome B3n, good luck getting nidan man. I'v seen a bit of Kyokushin practioners around here, im sure you'll find them.
  7. Now im not going to take sides, but from my experience...Shorter people always took the cup. Thing was, you can be tall and super powerfull with reach and what not. This is all in dismay if some one who is smaller and more menuverable just steps away from your sliding side kick per say. It's true that with long reach, some one should never come close to you. But once the shorter person is close, try pulling off a "finishing" kick or punch. you need to either step back, or pull your arm/leg far back to gain the momentum to hit them. At that point the small dude usually just has your stomach in ruins and way.
  8. I usually carry a kuboton chain or key on me for the pressure points and overall slamming of the face lol. I wish i could get my hands on a Manriki chain and that would be on me at all times.
  9. When the poor soul behind you gets a spinning reverse roundhouse to his skull when all he wanted was the directions to some place.
  10. Agreed, although that is what i'v learned and im only a Green belt. In my system its only the 4th belt.
  11. Welcome to KF =)
  12. Welcome, i have many friends in long island. Good luck on getting your Black Belt as well!
  13. Hello and welcome Stephanie! Funny too, i had a friend from australia who was into martial arts as well. As Nick above said, what exactly is Zen do Kai? I don't mean to sound rude at all, but i have never heard of it. Care to shed some light on it?
  14. Ahh your all perfectly correct. I should at least describe myself a bit. Terribly sorry for the rude question without returning anything. My style is something a bit of everything really. I know i know, styles like that in the past have been prone to crash and burn because of the major differences that contradict the other styles. Skeptical at first, i joined with previous expeirience of basic Karate and a dabble in ninjutsu. I figured that if i were to learn anything, it would only be a small understand of the general idea of other styles. I was right, and wrong. What happened was I actually joined a intergrated system that seemed to work out really really well. Though I try not to ask too many questions about the nature of the style itself, I have come to realize that every style has it's flaws and its strengths-which is what my grandmaster had tried to point out and excersize. The main styles that are in the sparring practices and drills are mainly: Aikido for the majority of the techniques Ninjutsu for the body moves, in the regard of gymnastics Mui Tai (did i spell that right?) For the close quarters combat and some weird mixture of Jujutsu and Tae Kwon Do for the general combat. As far as the school goes, most of you probably have not of heard of it. It seems that the media has it's spotlight on Tiger Schulmans at this point. Allthough the media has lost sight of it, the martial arts world has not. I am in the IOMASDA martial arts academy.
  15. Well, i didnt see a introductions part of the forum tho my luck im wrong and will be flammed untill im dead. In any case, nice to meet all of you and I look forward to discussing the gigantic world of Martial Arts with many educated and docile partners in the art. For a bit of the lowdown, im in an Intergrated style thats a little more difficult then I could explain. I can ensure you that it's not a Mc Dojang 99cent dojo hahah. So what style are you all into?
