White Belt

White Belt (1/10)

  1. Google for Dr yan Xin. He as done tests at Harvard to prove chi is real. The findings are interesting. Dr Yan Xin changed the decay rate of a radioactive isotope with his chi in a harvard lab. The results are documented.
  2. Belts are used to hold up you pants. A persons true skill comes out on the floor. Not what is around their waist.
  3. I have collected weapons for over 20 years. Ill have to try to compile a list.
  4. Thanks for the cool clip! Nice music LOL. I loved when they guy through the other guy over by his leg. And what an ending LOL.
  5. I agree Enviroman, Turning your back can be a baaaad thing. When attacked sometimes you will be grabbed first. I am a big fan of attacking the grabbing arm and using joint locks. Locks can be hard to apply during sparring sometimes. But when someone grabs you, pin the grabbing arm and break some bones
  6. We do a bit of blindfolded techniques / sparring. Lots of people are attacked in the dark or in dim light. Blindfolded stuff sure helps you feel your attackers position through sensitivity. That skill helps blindfolded or not.
  7. Cool,, I kind of hoped you were closer. I like to work out with different people. But I also dont mind road trips either
  8. Fallen, I was just in erie a couple of weeks ago. Next time im there ill try to make one of Master Borczons classes. But I did get a chance to work out with him when I was there. It was fun.
  9. Fallen, I run Grandmaster Kinkeads Philly school . I have trained under him for a long time.
  10. When I train with different styles I try to go into the class with an empty tea cup. I take that knowledge, put it into my teacup and take it home. Then I dump that teacup knowledge into my large tea pot. Now I have made my own brew of tea from the combination of knowledge I gained. If you look at other styles with a full teacup, you can never have a drink of their tea.
  11. If I kick to the knee I try to strike just above the knee cap and drive down. That way sometimes the foot will get pinned to the ground cuz the knee is farther back then the ankle. Then POP ligament breaks and attacker is on his butt. Kind of hard to come after you when his knee has no support.
  12. Was it advertised as a closed or open tournament? I only go to open events. I love to see the different styles.
  13. It is a whole lot harder to break without spacers. I was at a party once and they had a punching contest. They were punching a very old fridge door. The contest came down to 2 people. One my friend, the other some crazy biker guy . They both punched the door. The biker guy crushed the door in, it was one hell of a hit. When my friend hit the door it looked about the same as the bikers guys. but when you opened the door my friends side was cracked all down the inside .. That was awesome! My friend runs about 240 lbs and used to box for a bit. Biker partys have all the fun contests LOL .
  14. Hi Stonecrusher, I know how you feel sort of, I have 2 daughters I want to pass my art onto. But they are young 4&6, right now we play martial arts but someday I hope they will get interested. I live outside of Philly.. what part of NJ are U in?
  15. Shaolin Kuntao is based on the five animals- tiger, crane, leopard, snake and Dragon. There are also some sub animals used, Mantis, white ape, eagle ect.. All the forms are animal based. So if you are doing a snake form it is mostly on the ground with lower stances. A leopard is a small cat, It uses it speed and agility to hunt and fight with. The leopard forms I know use both the ground and jumping techniques. Leopard forms get me out of breath. Shaolin Kuntao is considered a soft style, but trust me it can be anything but soft.
