never heard of it. you may google it though. perhaps this is an attack similar to the tweed palm? -
thanks everyone for your help. i've checked into zhan zhuang even before i posted this, but im new to it and i dont really know about the different stances, etc. so ill check into the chi kung and work on charging my chi, and also relaxing and letting it flow.

BJJShotoshe explained it very well. you've done the katas so many times that is has become second nature to you. can you imagine if you punched and kicked like that normally? imagine you were sparring someone in class and they swong at you and you automatically avoided it and returned a perfect kick without thinking about it, without feeling it, without really caring. its a very good thing to have this feeling, or atleast thats what my sensei once told me. it comes from meditation, and takes a while to enter this state of mind. although if you think about it, doing your kata's is actually meditating, so doing them over and over and over will infact help you to this point.

More or less, I'm posting this to get some help on increasing my control over my chi. Also, I would like to learn how to USE my chi in actual strikes. I want to use it in strikes to create much more force, im not looking to use it in point striking yet. So if anyone has any training tips, usefull information, web links, suggestions, etc. please help me out. The big deal im going through now is using my chi in punches. See, I can sit down and place my palms together and actually feel the chi circulating between my palms - in order to do this i have to breathe in, then meditate on releasing my chi through my palms as i breathe out. Now this takes much longer than a split second, where as when im doing a straight punch, i execute that in a split second. So my question is: How should I train my punches to pack as much Chi, but within a split second?

Kuji-no-in (Kuji-in)
Akemoshi replied to Kieran-Lilith's topic in Kung Fu, JKD, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Chinese Martial Arts
you should google it. however, i've never heard about it. -
i never really looked into the japanese elements. more or less because when i think about it, it doesn't make since. im not even sure that air and void are apart of it, if it is... then i see no since on how it is possible for them to interact. the 5 chinese elements make perfect since: earth, fire, wood, water, and metal. no one element can exsist without the other. as for the japanese, i dont see how they get air and void in there? now if you'd like some help on the chinese elements, i can explain the best i can. i would also like to point you in the direction of the chinese.i honestly think the chinese 5 elements makes since, so i believe you should study that rather than the japanese 5 elements. its just my suggestion, but if you choose otherwise and find out some information on the japanese elements, please let me know.

yes! thats exactly right, i just wasn't sure how to spell his name, and i couldn't remember where i placed the book. what other books has he written? Empty Flower, i would very much like to chat with you about a few things. is there any way we can go about talking? maybe meet in a chat room sometime?

ah, i understand, and im glad you posted. otherwise i honestly think i would have created an imbalance, lol. not by using stones or anything of the sort, but for other reasons. i wish i could talk to you more about this, Empty Flower. What actually started my curiosity about stones was first reading the book "the third eye" by TLR (hard to spell his name, i just initialed), its a true life story about him and becoming a monk. he went through training, of course, but TLR wasn't able to gain the powers of the third eye until this stone was in place. anyways, i did some research and felt the need to ask some others. Thank You for your information.

I'm not a jewelry wearer except for the occasional silver necklace. i don't really notice any effects of wearing them, although this is the first time i've heard anything of the sort about jewerly (gold or silver) slowing down or altering chi flow. does anyone know about the stones that some monks and certain religions use or "place" on their third eye area? I google'd it once and certain websites stated that they stimulate the flow or circulation of energy in those chakras? any information would be helpful

Iron Forearm?
Akemoshi replied to Threads of Fate's topic in Kung Fu, JKD, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Chinese Martial Arts
Iron Palm deals with chi flow, and excerting extreme amounts of chi through your palm with little or no physical movement. hence the "one inch punch" or so i thought? i there a difference? if not, then how can you get the "Iron Forearm" that name? I understand why you would call it "Iron Forearm", for petes sake, you're blocking a falling log with your forearm. But please, could someone explain if they're somehow connected (Iron palm and Iron Forearm)? -
Energy used to knock somebody out
Akemoshi replied to TriStateTerror's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
From what I've learned over the past years of studying Dim-Mak, its very possible to do several "no hit knock outs" throughout certain points in the body. one of the first you would learn through many, many years of studying and training is a sort-of palm strike, with your arm slightly altered, and its a strike to the temple (which is GB point 3 in the traditional chinese chart). the strike doesn't ever touch the person but it has deadly side effects. anything from a KO to Death, or delayed Death. My advice is this: ask your sensei how he does this "no hit knock out", just tell him you'd like to check into it, be honest with him and let him know you dont believe its possible. check into whatever he says, then make decisions. btw, im with Kajukenbopr on this one too.. i dont see a jujitsu sensei teaching no hit knock outs. -
I understand what you're saying and its a great thread. although I do like interaction among people who share the same interests, and come to learn the same thing I'm learning. I honestly prefer training by myself over training with others. It takes my concentration off of others and allows me to not care for anything but my training. no one slowing me down, no one holding me back. Does anyone else feel this way?
