  1. fallen_milkman and valhalla, when my freinds went to China they pair off with monks as trainning partners my sensei's sensei got to pair with the head warrior monk and was shown something he must never speak off to anyone, and being told this i was instantly driven to find out and i was an inch close from losing my life that day haha. i asked if he learned how to fly or was flown with chi or something absurd and he just replied "way cooler." so i dont think they just do forms. the monks jobs are to spread what they know, there are only twenty warrior monks left since the sabbotage at the temple many years ago. So the art is still alive
  2. I'm still goin to find an answer about Vallari and why he isn included in USSD history. In my personal opinion i think thats more Mattera's personal linieage not USSD's because Mattera started USSD.
  3. tigerclaw2, Your old instructor is just starting out then if he has only 60 students, we have about 120 students and we make sure they can defend themselves (my instructor is also a ufc fan to the fullest). Your old instructor probably was just moved from a differnant state to start that dojo and if not thats his fault for not making his own money.. MY instructor never screws peaple like that have you tried asking why or how these fees came to existance. They have six moth programs or pre-pays that you can sign for, they lower you month to month cause theres less billing company fee's. now the 225 a month ment you were put on a whole nother agreement with and that meant you were responsible to know what you were getting into. The manuels iv bought are just one black belt manual and I get a video every time i test and thats it. I evan got the manuel for free when i signed up along with my first gi, and patches, and a yellow belt training video. I get a video every time i test and thats it.
  4. valhalla, the instructors college is around 10,000 but you get to work off a few grand and get a chance to open your own dojo with your hand in ownership so its like regular college and perks. They just dont teach you how to fight good theres alot of buisness you got to learn,(you also get to train with the masters) its almost a no fail system, iv never seen a broke instructor. i think its a small price to pay cause you can buy into the dojo more and more just as long as you follow guid lines(after all its UNITED studios of self defense).the no compete contract is definately a good idea cause if give away all of your trade secretes. I'll ask more bout Valari and get back with you as soon as possible.
  5. valhalla, Mattera left Vallari's system because he didnt like the way Vallari did buisness, as of the system its relitivly the same.
  6. United Studios of Sef Defense makes trips to the temple every summer but this one, the next trip is in the summer of 2006. You get to train with the shaolin monks and visit sights along the way, i really dont have the details but you can call any ussd and find out more.
  7. USSD does not have contracts they are more like agreements that you'll give them warning when ur going to discontinue your lessons. A contract means that you would have to stay or suffer cancelation fees of the billing company. If you pull out and dont tell them paper work builds up on the billing company's end causing time spent to fix the faulty paper work thus money spent. At USSD you can tell them you want to quit and your out but always free to come back. As for the so called high fees its worth the money spent with the type of training you receive
  8. I study with United Studios of Self Defense, the trainning i get there is amazing. Im only a blue w/ green but im going to join an academy that lets me become an instructer, with extensive trainning of course. I have many freinds that are in the arts that are envious of what i do, as of the price u get the trainning you pay for. I love it there and you should deffinatly give it a try. Ryan in Vegas
