  1. I think you have to go balls out believe that he killed your mom or what ever just get ANGRY. Believe that you hate him and think to yourself if im not aggresive ill get hit, i think playing some tackle football will help you with this problem. If your not aggresive you will get demolished, this is how I got over this problem being in football as a freshman. hope it works for you? =]
  2. Im interested in staying in good shape that i know boxing will give me but i do like the joint manipulations and throws of JJJ. I like to throw punches, not sure how many strikes JJJ has?? Is JJJ all throws and submissons?
  3. Here is my postion, im taking either boxing or JJJ. Being that they are very different i need some advice, what would be the best option for me. With boxing I like the fact that you could compete and its great for conditioning. With JJJ i will have an opportunity to work with Willy Cahill which according to many various sites, he is a very good instructor. I am 17 years old and I think 6-7 months i might have to switch clubs or dojos due to college. What would be my best option for my situation and interests? I am going to JJJ for a trial class and heading to the boxing club tomorrow. Here are the sites http://www.dawave.com/trainingfs.html http://www.westsideboxingclub.com/about_us.html
  4. Im only 17 so there is a youth program which is 2-3 times a week for about an hour
  5. Well I am choosing between a couple martial arts. I narrowed down my choices between boxing, muay thai or BJJ. I am looking for a martial art that will keep me in good shape, is competitve and not too expensive. For Boxing I found a club: Westside Boxing Club http://www.westsideboxingclub.com/index.html Its about 99$ per month and I have been seeing 50-75$ on some other sites and was wondering if thats an expensive fee As for Muay Thai World Team USA -site is not operational The real gym is in San Fransisco and thats too far but there is a branch dojo which has Muay thai but im not to sure about the instructors due to the fact the gym is not the real location. BJJ: I have two options http://roninjujitsu.com/ https://www.dawave.com/classes.html They are both roughly 70-80$s and that does not include the gi well those are my options, I am actually really leaning towards boxing due to the conditioning i would recieve but still unsure. Can someone give me some input? Thanks
  6. Well am 16 years old, one month from turning 17 and I really want to take a matial arts. There are two martial art schools that I am intrested in and they are close by. Though I will be be only starting and i would like to develop my art that i choose which would likely take more than a year, which then i will probably have to go to college. My two choices are wing chun and shorin ryu karate, again i will probably have to change dojos in a year or two. I know Karate will be easier to find but i think im leaning more towards wing chun. Any suggestions? Here are the sites Wing Chun http://www.eleungwingtsun.com/instructors.html Shorin-Ryu Karate http://www.ominekaratedojo.com/
  7. Well what I really want in a Martial Art is hobby (something I could practice) , ability to compete, and protection for myself. In the Martial art itself I would like it to be more on the fast paced side and I would like it to be a striking art. I am not THAT much into grappling though i probably will take it as a second MA later on. So now I am mostly thinking about: Kendo<< Muay Thai Wing Chun
  8. ok i have been online checking all these sites in my area and the ones that really intrest me are: Wing Chun Kung Fu Muay Thai Jujutsu Kendo I am 16...about 5'9 and a pretty quick guy. Im in football and track...i consider myself pretty tought any suggestions?
  9. Hi I have parents that will not let me learn more than one martial arts because of school and other activities. So i have decided to beg them to do either Kendo or Shorin-Ryu Karate. I have did my homework on both these dojos and they are great, sadly I do not know which to choose. Can I get someone's opinion? Im leaning towards karate because I can use that as self defense. Though I think Kendo would be quite fun and im in love with samurais.
