  1. Indeed there is.
  2. Hi guys, I had no idea there were also four-sectional nunchaku. How many sections can it possibly go up to? When is it not recognized as a M/A weapon?
  3. Hey Sai!! Haven't seen you in awhile!
  4. Hi guys, Just a quick question. since a three section staff is essentially a staff, can it be locled into staff form?
  5. Hi guys, I've heard there is a three sectional nunchaku called the San Setsu-Kon. Is this areal M/A weapon? Or really a three-sectioned staff? It also says each stick is "14 long. If it's really a three-sectional nunchaku shouldn't they be "12 long each? Any help clearing up my confusion will be appreciated.
  6. Just wondering, how long is a real three-section staff excluding the added length of the rope at the joints, etc? Just want to know the length of the three wood pieces combined. Because I've ran across a few variants in shop and want to know what the true length is.
  7. Thank you. So Hapkido is locks? I've heard of it, but never knew just which Art it was.
  8. Yes, moves with the arms and strikes that can lay an opponent out. Thanks.
  9. Hi guys, Just wondering: If I wanted to learn just one or two upper body moves to finish off an opponent fast and get out, what would you recommend? I just need a couple of simple finishing moves, nothing special. I was thinking something in the Kung Fu area but I’ll take whatever you think is good for me. I’vehave cerebral palsy so not much flexibility at all in the lower body.
  10. Ah, Jackie Chan. Yes he is well known for that approach of enviroment weapons. A good choice I'd say. Thanks for the advice.
  11. Hi guys, I rely heavily on weapons, although I do learn from Sifu Douglas Wong's Wing Chun books. So in your opinion, because many M/A techniques will deal with a fight, when are they not enough, and weapons need to be brought into play?
  12. Hi guys, Not sure if it's the right forum, but is there such a move as a neck pinch or similar, that can knock your opponent unconcious? I've been trying to find out if there is, and if so how exactly to do it. Though I'd not deigned to try it on someone. I'd prefer using it to fighting and hurting. Is there such a move as this "neck pinch"?
  13. Hi guys, I was wondering if there was ever a simple system set up by which guys like me who know no Chinese could translate individual titles. That's all I intend to do, right now. For example, words like "Moonbeam" or "Sunlight". I was wondering if I could translate them into Chinese? Thanks.
  14. Hey guys, Just wondering how in the world you store/carry a long weapon like a three-section staff around. I mean ithassome flexibility for semi-folding, but is not as portable as the nunchaku. How do you do it?
  15. Hi guys, I'm wondering: Is there a way we can make a circular throwing disk thing shaped like a Frisbee, but it can return to you as well? Like a boomerang, only shaped like a circle? I think it'd give me great practice foe throwing and catching.
  16. Hi guys, I am wondering: What company would you recommend to buy top quality self-defense style nunchaku from? I'd like a good strong pair that *could* be used in a fight if necessary. I know most companies make them only for practice. I'd like a pair that is good for both. I'd like them round a corded, with their natural color intact. Can you recommend a company that makes them to my specifications? And does this company have a Web address? Thanks.
  17. I'll see if I can find that post again.
  18. Well, I don't know about retractable staffs, but go to http://www.sakura-0.com and type in batons. Batons are 2 foot long retractables. If you don't like the, type in retractable staffs. They just might have them. Hope this helps.
  19. Hi guys, I've been looking for the ball bearing swivel attachment that goes on top of a lot of chain nunchaku. You'd think I'd be able to find them at a hardware store, since they're just metal caps with a thing to attach a chain. But I can't find them. Am I looking in the wrong place?
  20. Hi guys, I've got a pair of octagonal oaken sticks, 12" long. I decide to make a pair of nunchaku out of them. They were actually square table legs at one time. Because of this, there was a nut that I took out of each. This made an ideal hole for the chain. So, I put an eyelet in each, placed a keychain ring on each eyelet, and connected the chain to the rings. Because of this it looks a bit different. So, do you think if I pulled em out to show you, you'd think they were nunchaku, or two sticks with eyelets and keychain rings?
  21. Sorry to be a bother, but I need to put a new chain in a pair of nunchaku I carved. What chain do you recommend and how can I get the chain firmly down in the nunchucks? Should I drill a hole a buy chain with a thread at the ends maybe? If not, what is the *professional* way to do it? Thanks!
  22. I know many Okinawan and other M/A weapons today were once merely tools. What I'm not sure of is exactly what they were once used for. For example I know the nunchaku were used for crushing/harvesting grain, but if you asked me what the sai was used for, I'd have no clue. Can any of you tell me what different weapons were once used for?
  23. Yep, Arnis and Escrima, I know all about them. Perhaps they did, not sure.
  24. I like chain for a reason stated: Go up aginst a knife or something and they're better. I don't think I'll ever change, guess I'm just weird! To Ti-Kwon-Leap and FrEeX: I've got a pair of octagonal oak chucks too! But they have chain and reside in my dresser drawer. I know I'm weird and just not "with it" for liking chain better than the *original* grain smashing cord nunchaku (which were a farm instrument first) and I know it says I know zip about them, but I still like em!
  25. I heard someone in a post mention a double-sided stick. I think I'm missing something here. Don't all sticks have two sides? What's special about this one?
