  1. I would agree with Shorin Ryuu, generally if a martial artist dose not know standard form that’s the biggest red flag. In relation to Nunchaku ask to see a simple demonstration judge, the speed, technique, and how clean the forum is. If he is sloppy then he most likely is not a great person to learn it from. Another way is to ask if you can see the 32 strike sequence he should know that if he is higher then 1st Dan.
  2. A few of my students are getting to that time where they can start to think about competing. I was wondering if anyone knew some good sparring, or demo Tournaments, In the Washington state area or some; where I could go to look for them. Thank you.
  3. Hi everybody I am new to this forum. A little bit about my Martial Arts History I started training in karate in 1991 witch I left soon after because I was not satisfied with there methods From 1991 to 2000 I was training mostly privately then in 2000 I joined another academy Jungyae Moosul and they where wonderful do to life I had to leave in 2002 I got my first Dan black belt from the USMAA Then things started to go pretty fast by 2004 I was a forth Dan It’s was between 2002 and now that I started thinking of founding a Martial Art of my own This June I will be officialized as a founder but the USMAA and will receive the rank of 10th Dan in a Shinto ceremony In Tsubaki Grand Shrine I kind of feel like I am cheating seeing how I am making a strait jump to 10th Dan but its a great honor and I am very Excited
