  1. How close are you to Philly. Might be worth while to see what you can find there. Or maybe Harrisburg. Good luck.
  2. Best wishes for your recovery. You're going to hear the word "relax" a whole lot in your tai chi training. But you'll love it.
  3. Unless I am mistaken, qing gong is a posture in Chen TC. It is a short series of specific movements in the Lao Jia form. All the movements in Chen are done with the shifting of weight to some extent. Other styles shift as well but the shifting in Chen is very pronounced. Of course you may be talking about something else. I didn't read the other thread that you referred to.
  4. Cynthia Rothrock was my teacher for 12 years believe it or not. Her ex too.
  5. Grandmaster Chen Quangzhong. 19th generation Chen family. "Uncle Chen" as he is affectionately known as. Of course I would have to move to China, but that's not gonna happen.
  6. I believe you can separate the two. Not all Buddists practice MA and not all MA's practice Buddism.
  7. There is no commercial school of Chen in my area. My instructors are "out of towners". Where is the Broadsword clinic at?
  8. Excuse me if I'm curious. Why do you prefer Chen? I started a topic some time ago in the comparative style section and I would like to have a comparison between the two styles. I would like to do a discussion on Chen but I'm not sure about where to talk about it. I don't think this is the right place, so if someone could give me some direction on this?
  9. I do some Yang but my love is with Chen style. I thank everyone for welcoming me.
  10. I'm from Kingston, PA. About 20 minutes south of Scranton.
  11. I'm new to this forum and just wanted to say hello. It's a dreary lazy Sunday here in Pa. My wife went shopping so I'm surfing and I found this forum on my travels, looked around a little and decided to join. The last MA forum I was in wasn't very well administered and therefore wasn't a very friendly environment. Well, anyway I hope to be talking to you soon. All e mails to me are welcome. All advice is welcome.
