has anybody here had training in pressure points? I am trying to find someone to show me a technique to get out of head locks using Dar Mak. I obviously dont want to kill anybody.

you have to be carful with weights though, you can seriously hurt your joints if your doing improper techniques with weight. especialy your sholdures and ankles.

i dont know the difference between the 3... i think kendo is more of a practical combat martial art; and tate and iaido are more about katas, but i dont know for sure. if anyone takes any of the 3 or has link to good sites, plese tell me.

stripes in shotokan are only used for lower belt levels. someone tests for their next belt and doesnt fail but isnt ready for the next belt either, sorta like a half belt.

in shotokan (or, at least in the JKA version) it goes: white yellow orange green 1st purple 2ed purple 1st brown 2ed brown 3ed brown 1st black and then there are 9 other dans of black

ive been training for about 7 years. i took a 2 year break but im starting again at the end of april. i think any karate is great, but shotokan is the best style for me.

i want to get a tatto of kanji on my arm... so ive been on the net making translations. but i dont know how it is written. my avitar means invincible, but i dont know if the second character is supposed to go underneith the first. if i wanted to write some thing like "pain is temporary" would i do the characters for it like this: "pain is temporary" ??? some word have more than one character, like invincible, so how do i make a sentance?
