i was at my first class at the rickson gracie academy that was actually being taught by rickson himself (absolutly awesome i might add) He had already demode a throw and everyone was practicing it. as he was walking around the pairs he was stopping and having the students do the throw on him to make sure it was being done correctly. anways...he got to me and did it on myself. i stubbed my toe on mat and broke it. Seeing as how this was the first time i had ever met him i dared not flinch. i just gritted my teeth and finished class...after class i hobbled to my car. lol...it was awesome...i actually got thrown by rickson himself!! anways..i have only been going for about 5 months but i love every minutes of it. i just wish i could go to more of ricksons classes.

hi guys...i just joined here and i wanted to say whats up. This site looks awesome and filled with lots of info. I have only been doing bjj since oct so i am still a newbie. but i love the art and plan to learn as much as possible...anyways, just wanted to say hi. peace ASP

hi, i have been doing bjj since the middle of oct. I have been going about 2-3 times a week. now i don't exactly know what you mean by "proficient"...but all i can say is that i don't feel like a * in class anymore. lol
