I for one, take this Kuk-sul-Do. It is an ancient korean martial art where about only 5000 people in the world are taking it 1 grandmaster (my grandmaster) decided to revive this ancient martial art. It teaches very deadly punches and kicks and is not to be taken lightly. aside from that, my teacher does not just teach us how to punch and kick and stuff, he also teaches us how to treat others and self respect. He never encourages us to use it when we are at school and someone punches us or anything. that would get you in even more trouble. Only when you're on the street and you constantly ask the person to not fight, but they ill never give up, theres noone to call for help, or anything, then and only ten u can use it. alot of yu may think thats a wussie tactic, but look at you, now you look like just a big jerk! another thing that makes this art so different, is that we only get our promotion belts once or twice a year. We will only get promoted if everything is absolutely perfect.. there is no Jr black belt or anything, even if you're a kid, you have to do all 255 techniques perfectly, 50 roundhouse kicks in a row without stumbling, 100 pushups in 5 minutes, all forums perfectly (ive seen some people fail 6 times for blackbelt testing because of this) and tons of other rigorus tests. This is no fun time ride. telling others u can use kuk sul do on them if you make them look like crap... that is not good. even if you feel u must protect your title, you cant just beat the person down. .. i am only a bluebelt (6 promotions/12 before blackbelt) and ive taken such a likeing, im learning the language of korea.
