To answer your question we were both wearing short pants and a t-shirt.

I was training with a friend today ,the weather was extremely hot , he is about 24 pounds heavier than me , after 1 hour of worm up/ bag fighting / standup fighting , I suggested that we wrestle as i thought since he is the heavier guy i would benefit from wrestling him and he agreed , every time the fight went to the ground and i tried to lock/chock/pin or submit him , he just sleeps out from the hold as we were both sweaty .. I tried over and over and over again and each time i manage to apply a lock , he just sleeps away from it in one second until I got exhausted .
So what do you guys do against a sweaty opponent ???

8 hours at work , and probably 2 or 3 hours at home .

hmmm.................... If you are looking for full contact tournaments then join kyokushin , search the kyokushin organizations available , contact them , and join the organization that suits you the most .
I know that sounds insane but if you do not want to join kyokushin for any reason , then i advise you to start your own style of knock down tournaments .

I have been thorough many fights during high school and few times in college , I am not a trouble maker but I never walked away from a fight //* I know a lot of you would disagree , but we train in martial arts to defend ourselves not to run away on confrontation *//

We do self defense training twice per month or so , the rest is tournament fighting . I , myself , prefer to stay on my feats while throwing the opponent to the ground , and i like to apply chokeholds

I have experienced the same case lately , not being able to train regularly due to stress at work , so , i became moody and short tempered , just like you !!!!!!!!!!! guess it's common between kyokushin guys , lol .
One thing else , when i am not training , i get tired at work quickly !!!!!

My Sensei said something about kicking a sand-bag 100 times lightly with each leg every day to toughen up the shins. He's insane and old though, not to be trusted at all...
Lol.. I do this once or twice per week , so that makes me insane ???

Also makiwara is useful to harden the striking area while bag is useful in making your strikes heavier

Kata Jiin?

There are an amazing number of katas. One time while I was researching bassai dai I easily found 26 different versions of that one kata alone.Depends on the style(ryu) , the faction , the instructor , etc .... take for example kyokushin katas , they differ from one organization to another , for instance , passai kata in iko1 is different than passai kata in iko3 ........

I wouldn't say that shotokan is a week style , however , the main problem with shotokan is the high number of Mcshotokan dojos .

We do not practice grappling for kumite.
In another word , it's passive

You (and I for the matter ) are just training on how to grapple but never using it in kumite - never puting it under real test - , training is something , and real application of the move is another thing

i didn't know about the tools->options last night so i finally rolled back the OS to an older restore checkpoint.
That's another way to do it.

We do some grappling in our dojo once in a while , however , it's nothing compared to judo or JJ grappling .

I fought in a similar tournament two years ago , the one second grab was allowed with both hands , and again , the number of K.o.s from hiza geri was unbelievable. ( thats whay i said that the fight could go nasty in the first place )
