  1. We were doing one on one kumite in class one day when my opponent and I ( both shodans) did spinning wheel kicks at the same instant. Needless to say that we both ended up back to back with one leg stuck on the others shoulder bouncing on on leg each until our laughing Sensei helped us. LOL!
  2. Having sparred with my Sensei after class for many years, I would have to say that it is worth it. I may have hated it many times, and have been injured (by accident) on ocassions, but I benifitted from it immensely skill wise and in learning humility.
  3. I am a Nidan in Kyokushinkai. This is my base art. I studied it for ten years, and was an assistant instructor for more than five of those years. I have the kyu (or its equivalent) in aikijutsu, kenjutsu, taijutsu, TKD, southern shaolin style gungfu. I guess you could say that I am very open to learning new methods to defeat opponents in the ring, or on the street. I am open to all Martial Arts.
  4. I am pleased to join this forum. I am a Nidan in Kyokushinkai Karate. Learned under the late Shihan Don Buck, and Sensei Gary White. I was an assistant instructor in this style for over five years. I have also studied akijutsu, and TKD ( and a few other arts ) though I have not attained Dan in these. After a recent attack, I have had a change in my attitude about my training. While I did well, I reallized that I had not taken my training seriously enough. Now I am a serious student of the arts of war, and am looking to broaden my knowledge. I also want to help anyone that walks similar paths, if at all possible. Someday, I hope to write a book on the different methods of training in the Martial Arts. So, If you have any methods of training that you particularly like (or hate) to do. I would appreciate it if you would share the knowledge.
