JOMA's Achievements

White Belt

White Belt (1/10)

  1. Black belt since April 2008 IF I"M LUCKY Sorry, Blue belt ( 4th kyu )right now but there is know rush I'm only 40 this year . LOL
  2. Politics inside the Dojo who ever heard of such a thing? lol Focus on the training be greedy and get as much as you can. But. You're training your body and your mind, it sounds like your Sensei is only giving you physical training not mental training. A good mind, strong body think about it.
  3. That's funny , so many different ways to do the same thing. White yellow orange green purple blue brown brown brown black and then you start training
  4. If you ever get a chance to see a real master of shotokan you will be pleasantly surprised to see it flow like water. I've been training shotokan for only four year but have had several opportunities to see some real experts. Kept me from blinking for fear of missing something, amazing. I've seen a couple of experts in other styles too. When your good your good doesn't matter what the style. Shotokan sure has a reputation for being hard nose, but we're taught to bring it on at that moment of focus and to be some what relaxed between our strikes and blocks. Joma JKA 4th KYU

    Confused

Shotokan is a good place to start. You're there already. The quality of the style comes from how well your Sensei passes it on to you. Good luck and work hard.
  6. The way I see it both styles use the same basics. Aim for the same results and both have good and bad instructors. If you can get a black belt in two years training for a couple hours a week. Your in the wrong place.
