well honestly i would rather be well rounded, there is always a weakness in every style so by haveing more tools available to me, if they where a better striker i would go for the takedown, if they happen to be a better grappler i will attempt to strike, they they are better at both i will clinch fight, if they have everthing on me i will utillize my proficent skill at long distence running lol. i think being well rounded makes me a better martial artist than if i where only to take one art. in my humble opinion when a rank is decided by the amount of money you have brought to the organisation instead of skill there is a problem. -
Hate cannot be stoped by hate only compassion can stop hate - Buddha if one man can defeat ten then ten can defeat one hundrid - Shinmen Miyamoto Musashi he who knows his troops is a good general, he who knows his enemy is a brillent general, he who knows himself is enlightened - Sun Tzu i am already the best in history all that i require is training- Cole Fowles as all cherry blosems fall in there prime so it is with warriors - unknown the way of the warrior lies in the unwavering exceptience of death - yorimoto tsunetomo all things are inherently good, there perfect nature is just clouded by the dust of karma - Buddha be an iron bar wraped in silk - unknown an inept general will celibrate victory, but an enlightened master of stratagy will weep for his failure protect life - Sun Tzu only you are responsible for your self - unknown be like water flow with it - Bruce Lee love your neibors but dont pull down your hege - Ben Franklin a rolling stone gathers no moss - Ben Franklin put your hands up, i wont hit someone with there hands down - Cole Fowles the only difference between you and me and you is that i can make you ugly - unknown boxer boxing was just the stage on which to introduce myself to the world - Muhammad Ali a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step - chinese proverb just kick them they will undrstand - TBK karateforums member if you love life dont squander time for that is the stuff life is made of - Ben franklin take them you need them more than me (gives prayer beads to mugger)- Buddhist monk when robbed every religion is a path to enlightenment - the Dali Lama show me a loser and ill show you a loser - unknown never push anyone they may push back - my dad the sound of one hand clapping is irelavent because the hand does not exist - Cole Fowles the path to enlightenment is as thin and narrow as the blade of a sword- unknown samurai AMITABHA

honestly if you make your own you will be very disapointed you need to be a trained carpenter to make quality, dont order from catalogs either, show a desine to a local carpenter and he will be able to make one for about $500 -
i have tryed that, and as many of the members here have posted it doent work in fact once people found out i was training to go pro it seemed like i was the guy to knock off to prove you where a tough guy. never ever use your martial arts as a bargining chip

MasterH, you seem to have a fairly positive view of the ATA yet you are not longer an instructer why is this if i may be so bold to ask? -
well honestly i think he would lose badly to both Royce Gracie and Yeavs Edwards, i would love to see him fight Genki Sudo

LOL, actually she did skip potery class to go out. anyways i went and ran a 10k to make up for my lazyness, i still feel like im totally crazy but i have to say MA is just about the most important thing in my life next to family (and close friends) and religion, but isnt it just wierd how great MA is?
-
you guys seem on the leval and i appologise for being harsh on the ATA but its just that it seems so... wrong to me i mean i do martial arts to be a professional fighter and i just dont see much quality in the ATA in terms of actual fighting abilaty. i will ask some questions what is the ATA's goals? i mean they dont train great fighters and they dont have great self defence so what is the ATA's contribution to the martial arts? also how can you justify giveing a 6 year old a BB at that age it is impossible for them to even have a remote grasp of the techniques needed to be considered a BB. or the philosophy behind it.

lol well its now undoutable, im crazy, the other night i had a date with a positively charming lady friend who happens to pritty much be my dream girl. Anyways i had to skip my BJJ class to go out and i willingly skiped practice for the first time in a very long wile. we where haveing an exalent time at dinner and although the food was great and the company better i could not enjoy myself because all i could think about was jiujitsu class. there i was with the girl of my dreams and all i could think about was rolling on the mats working on MA! i am stark raveing mad. im a nice guy so i dont want to come off as a jerk but i have never had a good experience with the ATA not one, im shure there are decent MA's in the organisation but where is the contact? look i just think that if i can beat all the ATA blackbelts in my highschool (there are 9) with just my wrestling (and little effort) there is something seriosly wrong with the way they are teaching there students. not to mention that although i respect the charicter development i think the whole weapons and ground fighting is terrable im more qualified to teach ground fighting than the ATA school in my town. also although ATA is better than no MA there is nouthing at the ATA you cant get better someware else. better ground fighting = wrestling,BJJ,ect better strikeing = boxing, muay thai, ect better self defence = krav maga, scars, ect phisical fitness = any of the above arts, look i think a person would get in better shape and better self defence skills from joining my highschool football team than joining the ATA, on the lighter side i think the world is a better because of the charicter development in the ATA. sorry if i offended anyone but its the truth. also why dont you let non ATA members compete in ATA tournaments.

well... i hate to say it but the street fighter if all the guy did was kata hes going to get droped.
