My old Shotokan instructor told me about belt greying once and said traditionally Karate practitioners wore white when they began and as years and years past it became almost black with dirt and whatever.Some schools take the traditions seriously and just let their belts get ragged and stuff.

Hey all,Ive just joined this site after browsing for stuff on Karate vs Kung Fu and ended up here.Ive got to admit when I read those threads it had me in hysterics. I study Wing Chun Kung Fu under Sifu Sata Chand in Southend on sea,England.Also a few years ago I studied Shotokan Karate under Sensai John Anderson and reached 3rd kyu(Brown for those who dont know lol).Last but not least when I was a nipper I learned Chun Sao Kung Fu. Im looking to join other styles and arts at somepoint and it would be nice if some of you guys could throw me some info on your arts.
