Does anybody know about Cambodian martial arts? I am trying to find out a bit about them before i go to cambodia this summer.

Although I do not belong to the Kuk Sool Won organization it is my understanding that they are very strict as to what you can teach or can not teach. Although i'm nt sure how open they all are there are a few organizations that teach almost the same thing such as the Kuk Sul Do org, the World Dahn Moo Do Association and the NKMAA(Kong Shin Bup).

yes that one of the reasons why. also the association was called kuk sool won canada before it became the world dahn moo do association. and according to the national korean martial arts association which taught kuk sool won but then broke off to make kong shin bup the dahn moo do association owns the kuk sool won name in canada so thats why it was named the national korean martial arts association. And to make thngs even more confusing one of the first students of this asssociation is the second highest person in our org, and he holds and 8th degree bb in kong shin bup, as well as a 4th dan for his brief time in the world kuk sool won.

is this how kuk sool won canada/world dahn moo do association was formed? because although the official history of dahn moo do does not include anything about kuk sool won it seems like even the instructors in my org don't seem to act like dahn moo do isn't a break off of kuk sool won. might also explain why gm lee's only a ninth dan instead of a tenth

For Dahn Moo Do it goes (belt names are belts being tested for) Yellow Belt- Kicho Hyung parts 1-3 Orange Belt-parts 4-5 of Kicho Hyung Purple Belt-Dan Bong Hyung Part 1 Green Belt- Cho Geup Hyung Part 1 Green Stripe- Cho Geup Hyung Part 2 Blue Belt- Dan Bong Hyung Part 2 Blue Stipe- Bong Spin Set Brown Belt- Joong Geup Hyung Brown Stripe- Joong Bong Hyung Red Belt- Jang Bong Hyung Part 1 Red Stripe- Go Geup Hyung Black Stripe- Jang Bong Hyung Part 2 Black Belt- Dae Geup Hyung

We spar about once a week on average and we use light to medium contact no shots to the face no elbows or knees no grapling and no shots below the belt

I think this is always a touchy subject but i feel that everyone already has there own style especially when they have multiple arts and teach them together(multiple as in a few that you studied for several years not 66 that you studied for one class a piece). Now i'm NOT saying go out and proclaim yourself 25th dan founder soke of the grand ultimate ninja fighting style. Just saying that especiall when arts are mixed alot when your teaching them it might be best to use a new name but without inflated rank and with acknowledging where your style came from. Besides does it really matter what its called if it works?

um a quick arial cartwheel to close the gap, back flip so avoid a sweep and create a bit of distance can't think of anything else though

To teach the cocky yellow belt at the dojang i attend humilty and to attend more tournements.
