  1. Kewl thanks! I've been looking for an Iaido school but i if there is any its just one thats near me , "Martial Arts College" And it didnt list any styles they teach and have yet to get in touch with them thus far. But i'll deffanetly look into Haidong Gumdo....living where i am ,at first glance i pernounced it Hi-Dog GumBo lol. Anywho, Thanks for the suggestion!
  2. Looking to start an art that uses the Katana or Jintachi alot and that is able to be used in solo practice while not in the Dojo. Any ideas? I live in Houma, Louisiana. so far i havent found of such a training hall.
  3. Hi, Im new here , i have made a few posts already but just to introduce myself, i'm 17 and currently looking for a martial arts type useing the Katana or Jintachi weapons. I feel as though i should have started this persuit earlier in life as my agressevness needs to be more controlled and disciplined. But i'll love to have any advice on controlling my reflex to become agressive sometimes! I hate being in a spar then end up trying to deal an actual damageing hit(99% of the time i stop myself from the actual strike) But being so i know this isnt good. Anywho! if you want to know anything more just ask me or e mail me at RobertBass990@hotmail.com
  4. Aye Aikido isnt sword drawing but i did feel drawn to it for its movements as if one had a sword but when really unarmed. Other than that i found out the name of the other one, i'm a bad speller so dont hut me lol,Idi jujutsu i think it is.(battojutsu was very uncommon name for it). And i'm Located in Louisiana atm, origenally from Pensacola, Florida. if that question was directed to me lol Prolly sounds like * but i just feel whole when i am dancing with a sword...*shrug*
  5. Hello. Sorry and Thank you for your insight. I have been searching for it and asking around and have asked a freind who cunsulted his Sensei about it and he said he had a vague reference to Battoujutsu as a Technique, not style at all and that it has had changed names possiably. Something about holding the sheathed sword up in a position that would give it a slingshot effect to the draw and a fast horizontal slash. And TY for the mentioning of Idiao. While i was searching around i found a very interesting one, Aikido. Anyways, I am VERY poorly trained in the names of martial arts styles. On another note.I said what i didnt really mean, my friends and i arent really trying to make a style in whole, just a wide area of techniques. Sorry for my incompantance, my martial arts knowled doesnt expand any further than what i got from a TaeKwanDo(i cant spell) teacher teaching me some DT on a military base(as i was born on one) Please excuse the long post : )
  6. Hail, I and a few friends of mine are trying to make our own style based from Battoujutsu for defensive purposes,we cant find any Instructor/Sensei in our area that knows any basic Battoujutsu techs. I would be greatly in debt if someone could please e- mail me even just one detailed description of the stance and all motions needed to execute this method of removing the sword from sheath at a great speed.I will say we are all novice to this and our skills lacking. Though we have great interest in this spicific style and wish to know as much as we can about it. Thank you. p.s. please e-mail bbass82@earthlink.net OR RobertBass990@hotmail.com
