  1. My first one was a good size tournament in Houston but my division was done by age. The first round i had to fight a huge dude that was 2 belts higher. Then I had to fight my friend who came with me, an adv. red belt, beat him to everyones suprise. Then the real fun came. They gave me 30 seconds rest inbetween my last fight and made me fight a 6'2" black belt. Sounds fair huh. Long story short I dont like getting kicked in the stomach too much anymore. So I ended up getting second. Not bad i guess.
  2. But fighting is still the same. We havent grown an extra arm or leg. If its evolution than why do we still learn martial arts that were developed hundreds of years ago?
  3. Like he said already its not about flexibility at all. Its about momentum and centrifigual force. I cant do the splits but I can do a 540 and a 720. First you have to break it down. 1. Start with your right leg back. 2. Step your right leg over until your facing the opposite direction. - When you step through and put your right leg down you want to have your right leg slightly bent 3. Then jump up on your right leg and keep your left leg bent into your body. -practice just that and spin all the way around when you jump. 4. After you can jump and spin all the way around with that excercise throw the kick in there. There ya go.
