  1. Thanks guys. I absolutely loved it. I didn't love being completely lost for the most part, but I love the challenge and watching the other students move together was definatly something I can strive for. I was shocked how bad my stamina has become. I missed tonight and felt guilty about missing, so I can tell I am in this for the long haul. --Josh
  2. I got out of the Marines last year courtesy of 2 bad discs. Unfortunatly I used that as an excuse to pretty much avoid all exercise. Boy did I get lazy. I was 6'2 195 or so and I have recently hit 225. I actually had my first class tonight (World Oyama) and it kicked my *. My stamina was so poor I was almost embarrased. BUT I gave it 110% and tomorrow, I am going to do the same. I can't wait to start seeing the results in a few months. Being fat can happen to anyone for any number of reasons, but how we approach dealing with this is what makes the difference.
  3. Thanks. The introductions forums was way to obvious for me Sorry for the hassle. --Josh
  4. Greets all. I have been thinking of attempting some form of Karate for quite a while now. When I was 10 or 11, I did some Karate (can't remember what type) and quit right before testing for green. Its something I have regretted ever since. Last year I got out of the Marine Corps courtesy of a bad disc in my back and unfortunatly used that as an excuse to totally slouch on all real physical activities I.E. I have become one lazy freak. I started searching for all the local places to start and found that the World Oyama Karate is strongly present in my area. I have read quite a bit about it and it is really geared for my personality and what I want to get out of it. So wish me luck, I am headed there tomorrow to watch a class, and then hopefully if I am still interested, I will try and push myself to learn. Well, thats all Thanks for reading. --Josh
