Mine is good so far - I have only been a student there for just over a week, but the Sensei's are really nice and understanding when someone is a little less coordinated than others! I looked at a couple of places - other places left me feeling they were more concerned with getting the money from my pocket which turned me off. The people running the dojo I am currently in almost treated it as a secondary issue - the main focus was on the student's goals and what they can teach.

Thanks for the welcome! I have been to 3 classes so far - some Karate-related soreness (I wouldn't call them injuries) have cropped up but I am going to keep at it! Thanks for the encouragement - just reading some of the threads here keeps me interested. And having really good Sensei's at the dojo that I go to help as well! Brian

I just started (last week) and I enjoy it so far. I have a lot of free time right now - my wife is in another city for school - so I decided to try it. There is a dojo nearby that I have joined, and I have been interested in learning Karate for a while.
