  1. You San Soo guys seem to be saying that you can't use your art for anything other than practically fatal full contact fighting. How do you practise anything or learn timing or distance judgement, put yourselves under pressure to see what goes wrong and where? What does a typical San Soo class consist of?
  2. If I did that someone would be saying hey I know a midget maybe if you put clowns in there...and then someone would say hey I know a clown...
  3. In my opinion UFC fighters these days fight the 'UFC Style' which makes it a lot less interesting than it used to be! obviously to compete in this arena you have to cover all your bases, that makes sense. I see it a bit like Formula 1 racing, everyone started out totally different, doing there own thing and over the years they have become more and more alike, until now all the cars are pretty much the same.
  4. A friend of mine has been doing Kendo for about 10 years, but I know very little about it. Does anyone here do Kendo, or have any information/links about it?
  5. I could see how this could happen, but I don't think it would *have* to happen. Sifu doesn't have a hump back lol
  6. You've never had a pointless convo about a made up situation just for the sake of conjecture? You've never asked who'd win, robocop or terminator? Never wondered if Wolverines claws could get through Captain Americas shield? Guess not!
  7. Totally stupid thread poached from 2+2 Forums, but funny none the less! How many 5 year olds could you take out?! The Rules: - You are in an enclosed area, roughly the size of a basketball court. There are no foreign objects. - You are not allowed to touch a wall. - When you are knocked unconscious, you lose. When they are all knocked unconscious, they lose. Once a kid is knocked unconscious, that kid is "out." - I (or someone else intent on seeing to it you fail) get to choose the kids from a pool that is twice the size of your magic number. The pool will be 50/50 in terms of gender and will have no discernable abnormalities in terms of demographics. They are all fit and healthy. - The kids receive one day of training from hand-to-hand combat experts who will train them specifically to team up to take down one adult. You will receive one hour of "counter-tactics" training. - There is no protective padding for any combatant other than the standard-issue cup. - The kids are motivated enough to not get scared, regardless of the bloodshed. Even the very last one will give it his/her best to take you down. I reckon 50 maybe, if you could stay upright not break your hands and not become exhausted lol Hope this doesn't cause offence, it's just for giggles
  8. Yeah some people have, bit hard with Wing Chun. This is a Bong Sau...this is a Laap...just doesn't look impressive lol
  9. I've got this show, some of it is quite interesting. They do those tests on the force of the kicks, coming in at over 2200psi Most of it is pretty laughable though
  10. I've seen it from a lot of different styles, all chat and no proof. Akido masters that can fling people to the floor without even touching them, Wing Chun masters than claim to be the greatest fighters alive but the proof of the pudding is in the eating, as they say.
  11. Yes, but thinking you know something when you actually don't is worst of all...
  12. I don't know how you can live with him, look at him, speak to him or allow him near your family.
  13. Um, sounds like a circle step to me but I'm not really sure If I get what you're saying. How can it be like an arrow step if your rear leg becomes your lead? Can you give an example of a techinique you've trained it with?
