  1. Sorry if I misunderstood.. but what good would a spinning, or spinning jump kicks if your opponent is on the ground.. that would be the ideal time to flee, or get in good mount and start taking him out. I think spinning kicks are impractical for most, because it's tough to be able to do them quickly and accurately enough for them to be of any use. I don't consider myself great at them, but I've used them in kumite fairly often, I use a lot of legs. Anyway, a guy I knew could do a spinning jump kick extremely quickly, accurately, powerfully and with lots of height.. for him, and those who are quick like him, it could possibly have practical use. just my 2 cents
  2. I'm looking to try out another martial art now that I'm going to lay off learning more karate soon (I'll be able to get my 2nd degree soon). I've never tried Kung Fu, so I don't know much about it. I'm very interested in learning Monkey, or perhaps Tiger, not sure which.. or if either. The problem with Monkey is that I can't find a club anywhere around, I'm wondering if I should move on and look for something else. Can anyone recommend a style for me?
  3. I've done Chito-Ryu karate for almost 10 years now, I got my first degree when I was 16 (in our style we're only allowed to get junior-black until we're 16.. at which time we can get our full black). Now I'm polishing up on everything and I'm planning on going for my 2nd degree before I leave for university. As for changing styles, I've never done it myself, but there are some people in the club who have. It really depends on what style you've done before, and which you want to switch to. Many styles have the same, or share similar stances and movements.. even katas -- try counting how many karate styles have Bassai, there are a TON
