  1. I did see a set somewhere online that allows you to disconnect the chain and turn them into a skip rope...i just cannot remember what site it was.. :S sorry...but atleast now you know they exist.
  2. Personally I use a 6 foot long tapered hardwood bo. It's made of Oak I believe. I have never been a fan of competition bo's. Sure they are light, but if you actually hit anything with it, it will shatter into a million peices. If you are looking for something that is just for tournaments, then get a ultra light weight toothpick or graphite bo. If you want something that you can train with, get a heavier bo.
  3. I was wondering, if you wanted to put a patch on your gi, would you ask your instructor first before doing so? For example, say I wanted to put a small okinawan symbol on the left or right side of my chest or on the shoulder of my sleeve, should I just do it or ask for permisson? Just wondering what everyones thoughts were. Follow up question: if someone came into a dojo with patches from a previous style, do you think they should remove them?
  4. I believe its https://www.xmarevolution.com
  5. thanks a lot guys..
  6. Well its more like martial gymnastics instead of martial arts in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, what they do is impressive, just not practical. However, if it gets kids out of the house, in shape and interested in "real" martial arts then its totally fine with me.
  7. lol..yeah I know that. In my first post I said "the late sensei Richard Kim" I guess it will remain a mystery then.
  8. I am from Canada...so do you know anything about him??
  9. well it isn't exactly me im referring to, ive been there for over a year..im just talking about what I have seen lately thats all.
  10. Has anyone here ever heard of the late Sensei Richard Kim? I have been thinking about joining a school whereby he was so called founder. However, upon asking different people in chats and emails I have been getting very mixed reviews. Some say he is a hack, some say he is as legit as they come. Maybe someone on here can help shed some light on the topic...
  11. Has anyone ever experienced joining a new club and noticing a "inner circle" of people within the dojo? What I mean by this is basically a group within the group that really doesn't associate with other people, especially newer members. I have, and I have just tried to do my own thing and not worry about them. But my only complaint is that I feel that it becomes a sort of intimidation factor for those new to the martial arts and when you don't feel like you are welcome, you usually don't go back. So, has anyone else experienced this? What did or would you do?
