  1. Are you saying shooting is not a skill? True anybody can pull the trigger and get lucky or spray and pray but to put your shoots on target while under stress is a whole differant beast. in fact skilled/trained Police Officers who Hit 80% + at the range hit closerto 30% during a real confrontation. while it may not pass muster as an art. However they are a reality of todays day and age and the ability to handle firearms is most certainly a martial skill
  2. i assume your talking about point sparring rather than worring about how good your opposition is. Focus on what you do well find a couple combos that work for you. like maybe backfist, rev punch.... or what ever then practice alot work on speed.
  3. try and go to a sport med doc if ya can they will focus on getting you back into training more than other doctors.
  4. I dont know about yelling stop but distraction can be very effective
  5. The problem that I have with kicking the knee is that, although it is a good target, is the possibility of a lawsuit being thrown your way. but if it is truly self defense My goal is making it out in 1 piece Ill worry about the law suit afterward.
  6. You would be surprised how many tight spots you can talk your way out of if you teach your self to stay calm
  7. it depends its all about situational awareness. the last place i wanna be is on my back in the guard when dude 3 buddies show up. how ever there are times when that position might be better than standing.
  8. first consideration has to be get to a safe place
  9. When I was in scout we did need no stinkin ponchis:)
