  1. Hey guys. I plan to begin Muay Thai in about a month or so, and I wanted to know what I should do to condition and prepare myself before I start. I used to work out on a regular basis, however I have since stopped working out and am therefore not in the shape I used to be in. Dont get me wrong, I have no problem running a couple miles, but I cant do it anywhere near as easily as I used to be able to. Anyway, I am hoping that you guys can tell me exercises and techniques that I can preform to condition myself before beginning MT in about a month or so. Also I dont really have much access to weight equipment right now, so I cant just pump iron like I used to. Thanks a lot guys. I know how intensive MT training is and I dont want to go into it completely unprepared and out of shape. Thanks. -Sayajin

  3. Hey guys. First let me introduce myself. The name is Morris, im 18yrs old and in college. My specialty is computers and I love cars and MA. I dont really have a particular style which I am interested in, however I just love MA in general. Im 6',1" and a 160 pounds or so. Im not extremely strong however I do feel that I posses some speed. I am pretty much a complete beginner in MA. I used to take TKD a little as a kid, but that was a long while ago. I mostly got my interest in MA by watching my uncle in his kickboxing dojo out in Queens, NY. Anyway, I am looking for a good school/dojo/gym in or near Lawrenceville, GA. Like I said earlier I dont have a particular style which I want to learn yet and am open to learning just about anything. However there are a few styles which I refuse to learn. Those styles are Karate and TKD. I have looked all over the place for schools and all I seem to be able to find are Karate and TKD schools. I have checked the phonebook, drove around, asked people, and surfed the net looking for a school. Also let me say that I initially started out wanting to learn either boxing or kick boxing. I dont know if that makes a difference. I would really prefer a small school over a large school with a lot of students, however I can deal with a large school as long as the instructor is competent. I like styles where speed is a dominant trait. As I said above, im not the strongest person in the world and I like to utilize my speed most of the time. Im pretty much open to any style other then the ones above tho. I dont want to do MA for exercise or anything like that, I want to do it to learn how to do it. I also would prefer a style that is practical, meaning you can use it in real world fights. Not that I intend to fight, however I feel there is no point in knowing the style if you cant use it. I would like to be able to attend sessions more then 2-3x a week. Also me being 18 and living on my own, I dont have $90 a month to spend on classes alone. I have no problem with an instructor who knows what he is doing however does not have an exorbant amount of equipment. Im looking for the quality in training. Anyway, if anyone can help me in my search for both a school and a style, it would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks a lot guys and I look forward to frequenting the board quite often! -Sayajin
