White Belt (1/10)

  1. Hello I am a new kickboxer who will start competing here in a few months. My question is, how likely is it that I'm going to suffer a concussion or some sort of brain trama? I've had two concussions already and I'm in college studying sciences. I don't want to compete and not be able to handle college b/c of permenant damage to my head. How likely is it that this would happen? Could I get some feedback from some of you more experienced fighters? Thanks
  2. I forgot to add that the tourney he wants me to compete is kickboxing, even though I'm training Muay Thai.
  3. I am 18 years old and fresh out of highschool. I am 5'11 and 155lbs. I have 7% body fat with a 49 inch chest and 29 inch waist. I have competed in 8 weightlifting competitions and placed top 4 or higher in every one. In my highschool days I was a varsity football player, track athlete (one year distance three years sprints), and wrestler. As you can see, I am the athletic type. Anyway...I have been training in Muay Thai for 4 or so weeks. I train with my trainer three days a week for two hours. I train by myself for two hours a day. I have defeated a friend of mine who is a black belt in karate and my first (i'm now trained by his trainer) trainer. My current teacher seems to think I can compete in 6 or so months and do very well. I am just curious as to what you individuals have to say about the situation. Should I compete in 6 months or wait? Even tho I have absolutely no thoughts or fear in my mind when I compete, I still have this doubt afterwards. Well..lol..what do you guys think? Thanks
