  4. There are no plurals in the Japanese language, without exception. There are no nunchaks, sais, bos or anything else with an s. Learn it.
  5. I think some clubs have too many belts. IMO 5 or 6 is plenty.
  6. I think there's a place for both flashy stuff and the way the nunchaku was designed to be used. 'The flashy stuff is no good in combat' is what I hear a lot. I don't know anybody that carries nunchaku around in their pockets looking for a fight. I like both styles of training.
  7. Spread the word, and if you feel like abusing these traitors then please do so. Yours, in the martial art spirit. Martin Adil-Smith ^^^ That doesn't sound like 'martial art spirit', does it???
  8. I've seen people pay upwards of US$3000 for shodan in Japan.
  9. Do a search for 'taiko' and see what you find.
  10. The style I train in is romanized wrong and I train at Honbu! Just the way things are.
  11. DLopez, it depends which part of Japan. Osaka has very hot weather, as does Kyuushuu and Okinawa, and all places in between. The north is generally cooler.
  12. Yes I meant Japanese. Most, but not all kanji, originally came from the Chinese language. As Sho(u)rin Ryuu pointed out, it could mean any of the things he listed. However, it may be an original word, made by the founder. If that is the case, without looking at the kanji, there is no way of knowing the meaning.
