Someone who reads a lot on m.a. will think that they know alot on the topic if they read a lot. Someone who has trained a lot, will realize that the more they train... the less they really know.
I posted on your other thread yesterday... Try emailing Marcus on the tokon site- I know that someone posted it earlier. https://www.tokon.com He usually answers pretty quickly and I'm sure that he'll help you with your questions about what size you need. I've bought a monarch tokon gi through him and I've been very happy with the quality. He was really helpful with my questions. All the best...
http://www.tokon.com send Marcus an email at this web site. He's usually pretty good at answering quickly and I'm sure that he'll help with your questions. I've bought gi's from him- they're really comfortable and good quality. I hope this helps.
for Kamikaze, make sure that you are going to this web site http://www.kamikazekaiten.com there are some knock-off kamikaze out there that are poor quality. The real ones are good quality- I have a Monarch. Kathrine
I was always told that I didn't kiai loud enough- especially the first few years of my training. I recently went back after a few years absence from "class" training (trained on my own during that time) and boy did it feel good when I kiai'd for the first time back....
Hi, Everybody gets nervous, it's perfectly normal. Listen closely to the instructions that you are given, remember to breathe and try to enjoy yourself ! all the best! Kathrine

maybe this should be a new topic, but how common (or uncommon) is the gauntlet kumite- type of shodan grading. No, it isn't news to me that this is done, I'm just wondering if it is the norm, the majority or the exception for a shodan grading... K.Lahtinen
I've never washed any of my belts. My gi is clean before each class and I will hang up my belt after class to make sure that it dries, cause it does get quite damp in class. If my belt starts to frey (sp?) I would sew it, but have never washed it.
