  1. On that little bit about Jeet Kune Do. If your not interested in medels or belts , Jun Fan/Jeet Kune Do is the way to go. (Note, Jun Fan/Jeet Kune Do is diferant then Jeet Kune Do Concepts) I my self train in Jun Fan/ Jeet Kune Do , and I tell you what, its very much about your skill, and not about your belt color. Its very simply put, Scientific Street Fighting. Here's a web site that has a list of Bruce Lee's students, such as Steve Golden, Ted Wong and people under them, who knows maybe some ones in your area. Check it out. http://www.bruceleefoundation.com
  2. I totally aggree, Kata's are no good. The only good thing you could get out of a kata, is the learned position of a block,or hand position. But in kata's your in a fixed positions, which will never happen in a fight. Now I can see learning a hand positions, and body structure, but kata's bind you up mentally, and are Pre-determinend fight sceens. And an actual fight, you won't ever get that. You'll have to learn how to flow, and to react, not think, but just fight like you've trained. 3. Have you ever thought of trying Jun Fan/Jeet Kune Do? It's alot more agressive and deals with alot more close fighting, and is more of a street fighting style. Rather then a competition fighting style.
  4. "I hear that wing chun is an attacking art which when you block you don't actually stop the other persons energy flow.you just redirect it. Is this true?" In Wing Chun, you normaly don't block, (if ever) but parrys, or rather redirects a persons energy, while getting a better angel of attack;attacking into center line.
