Thanks for trying but no, I believe that it wasn't Taira Shinken Sensei because this particular episode was recent. In fact, the sensei featured works as an undercover cop in Okinawa.

In an episode of the National Geographic Society on Karate with Josette Normandeau, I saw a sensei who was called "Taira sensei." Can anyone tell me what his full name is and which particular style of karate he teaches? Thanks.
