  1. You say to a knife mugger. " Thats not a knife!, This is a KNIFE! " pull out bigger knife then him. - remember to add aussy accent to the saying as well.
  2. Does Boxing Master Have a Name? Welcome btw
  3. The style I am training in right now (Yoshukai) is a style thats based on what works in the real world. You learn how to spar, the basics and katas. I like it a lot for that reason. My sensei is a retired RCMP officier , so we not only learn ways to defend , but how to be agressive and take control of a situation. I figure if a Police officer can use this style that he has been practicing for 20 years in real life then so can anyone else.
  4. thanks for the welcome btw
  5. nope dont even know what that is , well aside from *
  6. Whats a good MA that teaches the Katana? Aikido?
  7. I will consider a cain , when Im old enough to look like I should be using one
  8. Hey well I never properly introduced myself. I lurked for a bit then decided to sign up and start posting. Well im a 20 year old male, and im just getting back into MA (Yoshukai) I was involved in another form of karate when I was younger ( obtained a green belt ) but I found it boring because the dojo had no contact/ no sparring, and belt tests once a year. Last october my friend who is a first dan black belt encouraged me to join the club he partcipated in. I have my first belt test tommorrow. ( I live in Canada BC) My name is Jamie btw. nice to meet you guys
  9. good article , I am looking to start on a training plan should I look into this one or are there other better ones out there
  10. HanweiDirect@aol.com Mark G. Sloughter Wholesale Imports Direct Ocala, FL 34478 USA Here is Mark's email. He is a resident in Florida. Hes a great guy has had thousands of buyers. which most all were extremely happy. He can get you mostly anything Paul Chen , you can visit this site http://www.casiberia.com for an idea ( note those prices are full retail and he will be able to get you them at wholesale prices ). For example I ordered a Paul Chen Practical Katana Plus , which retails for $355 usd , I got it from him for 215 usd. Anywo all around nice guy. GL on your purchase
  11. Hey, I am a huge fan of collecting bladed weapons, but I find some of these laws utterly stupid here in canada BC. Weapons such as throwing stars, nunchaku, butterfly knifes , switchblades, hand held cross bows , most action knifes ( any auto open knife can be seized)... lots more. When I ordered a katana , customs held it for 29 days! Kind of sad really. The sad part is , you can go downtown chinatown and find some of these in shops? How do they get these weapons past customs? Anywho , share your experiences
  12. ^^^ exactly You buy those for your wall , If your ever to use it in any cutting exercises just watch the 99$ sword break , chip or bend. General rule , If the temper line is etched, it belongs on the wall
  13. Reloading and firing more shots into the guy after you have incapcitated him is the worst thing you can do. Not only will self defense not hold up in any court, You are more likely to get a longer sentence if you receive one. The thought goes like this, say you have a revolver and you fired 6 shots and hit him, he would be likely incapcitated to the point where he is harmless, reloading and killing him is the point where it stops becoming self defense and becomes murder. ( ussually man slaughter). Just make sure you kill him with the first 6 shots
  14. Also note* if your interested in any paul chen swords, I know a guy that imports them, and he can sell them to you for cheaper then you would find in any store. just give me a shout on email and I will give you his contact info
