White Belt

White Belt (1/10)

  1. I would have to say that Sanchin is my favorite kata, next to Saifa, I have nail marks on my hands after, during my grading my sensei took a bamboo sword(cant think of the name) and hit me in legs and stomach, Shoulders, while kyu would yell and talk and all in all try to distract. Great Kata. Battle of the MInd Body and Spirit.
  2. From what I understand and Practice Uchi-Uke inside our wrist slightly bent and elbow one fist away from body, soto-uke,outside in and accross the whole body to the other side, while uchi-uke block one uses the wrist to hook the punch the soto-uke uses the meaty fleshy part of the forarm,
  3. Always without fail. shins, every time I spar, Huge lumps, like I was practicing Muay Tai, Just finished a 12 hour Endurance Seminar on the Weekend, Did San Shou hurts let me tell you.
  4. What he showed me I was told it was the whole kata, others have told me that matsuhiga no kon had jumping and throwing of the staff. Is this right. I really like this kata, it is the first bo kata, so far I have 9 openhand 1 escrima, one foreign and one bo. I just want to ensure that its the whole thing.
  5. Hi, First I am new to this forum, I am a green Belt and have been studying for just over 2 years diligently. My question llies with Matsu Higa no kon, I have just Recently Lerned this Bo kata and I love It I am wondering IF someone who knows it as well can compare notes only because I am a little skeptical as to why the sensei would teach me a brown/black belt kata, I want to make sure I know the whole kata, If you are uneasy as well I can describe what I know.
