  1. A person who is trained and cetified as a black belt is several different types of martial arts (Ju Jitsu, Karate, Tae Kwan Do, etc) hits an individual, say a female, and threatens to come after another person and do bodily harm to them. Can they be charged with a crime under the premises of being a letahal weapon? I guess it depends what state you live in. Can anyone give insight? Thanks..
  2. I was watching a documentry on him last night on t.v., and missed the part discussing his death. How did he pass away? Anyone?
  3. When you are studying Hapkido, do you have actual sparing sessions? I have read that the moves are actually dangerous to do. Does it depend on where you study, if you are required to do sparing? Seems like it's the only way to know if you are doing it correctly or not. One day, i will actually be able to sign up for classes, i promise..
  4. The place i found to take Combat Hapkido is 65 dollars a month. I live 15 miles outside of Tampa. I would like to find a place to learn Jeet Kune Do, but have not found a place local yet.
  5. What style does Jackie Chan use? Not that i want to be like Jackie, i am just curious what you call it. I have pretty much decided on Combat Hapkido for myself for general self defense in life, if that doesn't work, well then there is always Kel Tec, H&K or Sig Sauer...
  6. Thanks. Looks like a lot of good information, and it seems to fit just the style i am looking for. Can't wait to sign up and get started!
  7. New guy here... I am looking at signing up for Combat Hapkido lessons in a few weeks when i get back from vacation. Is it true this is a type of M/A that combines an offensive move with the defensive move?(Does that nake sense?) I am looking for ways to defend myself with out a handgun, but i want to make sure that the person can't come back at me once i "disable" them. Also, any good books i should pick up about the style? Thanks, i like to learn about new things, and this feels like it's something very worthwhile.. B.T.W., i am 30 years old, so it's never to late to learn new tricks...
  8. No, it was LS1.COM, but i may check out that one also..
  9. Nope, i remember watching when i was a kid..
  10. Just found out about this board from another forum yesterday. I have never taken any form of martial arts, but will be registering for classes when i get back from vacation at the end of the month. I am going to try Combat Hapkido and see how i like it. It's more or less for self defense and my self esteem. Looks like a good forum here, with lots of info.
