I say Judo, since I am a Judoka. In my dojo, believe it or not, we train for the ground, and stand up equally. My sensei, Kevin Doherty, is a two time olympian, and he was also a world champion, so he is super strict, and he always lets us train hard on the ground because he said these days, a lot of Judokas get lost as soon as they go to the ground during a match. It all depends on wether u like stand up grappling, or ground grappling, but as a lot of BJJ guys will tell u Judo gives u bad habbits on the ground, and it has a lot of flaws, is not true, and lets say if it was, well BJJ gives u bad habbits with stand up grappling, and that is true. But just so u get it straight, most Judo schools focus more on stand up grappling, and most Bjj schools focus on the ground. And one more thing, I think Judo focuses more on ground grappling, then Bjj focuses on stand up grappling, right? Correct me if im wrong

What art is better for street fighting?
Judo Warrior replied to Sinar89's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
For striking, I highly recommend Muay Thai. But there are also a lot of great striking arts like Karate, Kung Fu, TKD, etc... For Grappling, I highly recommend Judo, because it will make u good at stand up, and ground grappling. But u will have to find a good Judo school, because a lot of Judo schools focus too much on stand up grappling. Other great grappling arts are: A lot of the Japanese Jiu-Jutsu styles, Brazilian Jiu-Jutsu(Amazing for the ground), Wrestling, and Sambo. -

Question about Judo
Judo Warrior replied to dingyuan's topic in BJJ, Judo, Jujitsu, Aikido, and Grappling Martial Arts
That is not true because Aikido was created after Judo. Judo was made from 3 different styles of Jiu-Jitsu. Judo has striking, it is called Atemi Waza. I believe it is very effective striking, it is usually taught at Green Belt, but most Judo schools teach it at Black Belt. -
Hey, I'm in my high school's wrestling team, and it think it's just called High School Wrestling because there are restrictions and certain rules that don't apply in freestyle wrestling, but it is pretty much freestyle wrestling because u can attack below the belt, and in High School Wrestling it is important that when u throw an opponent u have to go down with them or else the refree will consider it a slam and u will most likely get disqualified, but some referees let it go.
