  1. I read these posts and wonder where some people get their information. Vale Tudo is NOT a specific martial art, it is just a "no rules" fight. Simple as that. In regards to BJJ, it is a grappling art, in my opinion the best. It has proven its worth in the most realistic setting possible (the UFC and Pride fights). If you want to learn how to strike, which is also very important, take up Boxing or Muay Thai. They are straight to the point and will teach you the most effective way to strike someone while protecting yourself. If you watch the current MMA fights, almost every single fighter uses some form of BJJ and/or Muay Thai/Western Boxing.
