  1. There are two excellent GKR resources for anyone that's looking: https://www.gkrkarate.org has everything you need for the background of GKR, how to learn the katas, tips and advice - anything like that. My own https://www.gkrkarate.net is a forum for everyone involved in GKR. It's still quite new but already has a solid base of friendly posters. If you're looking for more information about the Kancho seminars or competitions, come visit my https://www.gkrkarate.net site and look for the Events section. [Note to admin: Puh-leease don't delete this post. I'm really not trying to pimp my site - there's precious little information about GKR on the web and I'm only trying to help fellow members]
  2. Hi guys I've been doing GKR in Birmingham (yes, England) for about 3 months now. I'm currently an orange tip and I've been lucky enough to be asked along to the senior classes. These are primarily for those that want to go on to become a sensei but at the same time it's a great opportunity to train with higher grades than a public class and also learn from the regional manager As for the basics... that's pretty much all we still do. Some sensai's will introduce shuto's "chops" for white belts, others prefer to wait till you're yellow. So rest assured new moves are coming soon, although as everyone has rightly said, it's your basics you need to focus on. The Seminar in London with Kancho is on September 13th. The Birmingham seminar with Kancho is September 18th. As for the tournaments, I know of two: Birmingham on September 27th and Manchester on the 20th. The National Titles (held in Brum, I believe) is September 29th.
