Hi Guys, the worst thing about answering this type of question is the truth is always going to burst some poor kids bubble. Jeane Claude Van Damme, a personal friend of Frank Dux : that about sums up his MA carreer...........It has been said it was Frank Dux's (Bloodsport) idea, (who is an expert at making up false fight records), that Van Damme claim he was European Kick boxing champion...........The truth is he did win a few karate points competitions of no real standin but that is as far is he got. Well whatever, it worked and got the guy into the movies and fair play to him.............could Jean Claude make you wish you hadn't called him a fairy?.........Fit guy, not the slowest around and if he caught you smack in the face with that mawashi..........ouch!!..........plus, unless the guy is a total pansy, which I very much doubt, he probaly packs a very good punch. Ok some body guard picked him up and threw him away when he was drunk..............that means nothing. Jackie Chan.............1st Dan in Hapkido and straight into the movies..........Jumped on the Bruce lee band wagon after his death..........the difference was jackie never tried to copy or emulate Bruce...........he went his own way and as bad as his early films were became huge in Hong Kong..............Fighting ability.....about nil to zero...not Jackie's thing at all..............the man is 100% an acrobat and showman........small, not very muscular and certainly not a martial artist in the true sense of the word..........nothing he does would ever work in real life....I'm afraid Jackie would be way at the bottom of my list. Jet Li:...........Jet is the mystery man as he has never had a fight in his life............he hasn't even sparred seriously...........When he was training as a boy he was far too valubale an asset to have messing around in the dojo..........granted the 5 times wushu champion is extrely talented, but a fighter? Nope. never in the creation of man...Jet would be outta there at the first sign of trouble......... the man's beliefs wouldn't allow him to harm anothe human being.......so in Jet's case I'm afraid we'll never know. Don "The Dragon Wilson" Done it all and has already answered the question in the arena. Chuck Norris..........6 times world champion. Absolutely no doubt that he was one of the best MA around in the 60' and 70's along with his good friend and student Joe Lewis.......Handle himself ? you better believe it. Bruce Lee...........I had the pleasure of training with a great JKD fighter namely, Mark Stewart, who trained with Dan Inosanto, who trained with Bruce...............Third hand lies they say, I doubt it in this case....True, we can all get carried away with movie legends but Bruce was the ultimate MA who just happened to make a few movies...........the man, in a way, was a freak......apparently the more muscular he got the faster he got.........The fact WC kick boxer Joe Lewis is hardly famous for praising others, openly stated, "I never stood in front of a faster human being in his life", has got to tell you it all...........His pheonominal speed and amazing upper body strenth made him the Mohammad Ali of MA. Steven Seagal: An absolutely huge man with hands like shovels.......he came to Thailand about 5 months ago for a concert...........when I say huge, I mean huge.............It is true he ran a dojo in Japan, but it belonged to his wife's family not to him........... I am not trying to take anything away from the guys by saying that.........He did reach Aikido to the Jaoanese and was the first foreiner ever to do so..............His rank is 100% genuine and was achieved way before he went back to America or even thought about being a movie star. Initially he worked as a body gurd and taught Aikido before Kelly Le'brok introduced him to the movies. One glimpse of his training movies and any trained MA can see he is a huge talent..............He was the highest paid body guard in Japan and is 100% the real McCoy IMO..........his huge arms and hands are ideal for Aikido and he really can perform about everything he does in his movies.............he is probably the only MA who really cared about what he put on screen....he respects his art and tries hard to show what can be done rather than what can not be done........Admitedly, he recently fell fowl of pressure to use wires in Exit Wounds.............but overall he is the best MA to grace the silver Screen since Bruce died. I would rather face a rougue leephant than upset him..........hamburgers or no hamburgers Samo Hung is a favourite of mine...been around a long long time.........he was a fat slob when he fought Bruce in Han's garden and he's still a fat slob but one helluva good MA........Sammo could mix with the best IMO. Donnie Yen............... ................Geez I'd love ta smack him........... talented MA but a bore full of praise for no one but himself. Hope someone knocks him out then we can all say he can't fight for chit probably a real hard guy though. David Carradine............poor old David never claimed to be a MA...he never stole that part from Bruce....Bruce was never really seriously considered for the part..............Bruce thought he was the man for the job............the producers never but it makes a good story for the Bruce Lee writers. He would struggle in a hand to hand fight but he gets a few pebbles in his hands and watch out.............he can take yer eye out at a hundred paces My Fav. Vinney Jones...........5th degree black belt in gutter snipe Karate LOL he's the tall English guy who was in Snatch with Brad Pitt and 2 smokin barrels......now he is a real hard man...........MA or no MA......Vinney and ex-Wimbledon footballer in England is the hardest man in the movies today............
