from the ground up are you sure about that theory??? where did you get that from?? i'm not saying you're wrong but ive always learnt about a nun called ng mui and the creator she was the last surviving master or sumfing and she taught the art to a girl named wing chun i dunno... https://www.cheungswingchun.com history

i train in Wing Chun.. i feel that im not agressive at all... when i joined Vovinam (martial arts of vietnam) my opponents wer ruthless. i found that being calm didnt help... normal i'd wait for my opponent to attack first, then i counter. but i feel that i have to attack first, to avoid getting hit. i like the wing Chun concepts and principles but i feel it lacks agression... i continued doin Vovinam and now im a more agressive fighter. experience and training play a big part in your aggression level... if you are scared you only retreat and dont attack.

i dunno, but my instructor said, you shouldnt cross train too much because you'll end up forgeting movements. and when your in a street fight, you'll panic and cant choose a block fast enough... whether you use a WC block or Karate..u know what i mean?? but thats juz wat my instructure says, maybe he just wants me to stay with him. i personally cross train as well... i do WC and Vovinam (martial arts of vietnam) they are totally different. but like doing them. i guess its up to you

wing chun kicks
wckf_azn replied to aznkarateboi's topic in Kung Fu, JKD, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Chinese Martial Arts
in wing chun we use medium to low side kicks and front kicks theres another kick but i dunt know the name... it was used in Jet Li's 'the one' movie when he kicked the pole down.... since wingchun is mainly used as close quarter combat... we normal only use our hands/ arms b/c there is no room to kick at the point of contact. in wing chun we dont realli emphasis kicking.. i guess we normally kick to break the knees.. or soething like that... -
wcnavstar i do understand to you on about... i guess i feel that by throwing a round punch in a street fight would be more effective. i dunno.... imagine this just say you were hugging your opponent or vice verser or just really close to your opponent. the only way to connect is by throwing a round punch b/c you are unable to throw an effective straight one b/c yo're unbalanced... do you understand?? i also understand that straight punches are faster..but would it have an effect if you wer really close to the opponent?
