Hi Jill, best thing to do as other people have already said is find a MA school near you and have a word with the instuctor there.I have been doing MA now for just over 2 months and love every second of it! Im 27 nearly 28 so your never too old to start! Good luck with finding somewhere Best wishes

thanks to everyone for the advice and the very useful links I really do appreciate it I had my first lesson last night and loved it even if I couldn't get all the moves right practice makes perfect I suppose and it was my first lesson so I shouldn't really be so hard on myself.I cant wait until next weeks one now! Roll on next Tuesday and in the meantime I shall be practising my turns so that I dont do a full spin as if Im dancing! *L* Best wishes Lis

Hi all I am going to my first ever karate lesson tomorrow eve and the style that I will be learning is Wado-Ryu.I just wanted to know really what type of style is this and is it quite easy to learn? Im 27 so I suppose Im starting late in life but I am quite fit which I suppose is a good thing! Also how many people on here starting their classes on their own?The biggest fear of mine is going and Im going to be the only beginner there! Its probabaly just nearves with it being the first time ever in a karate class! Im sure I'll be fine come Wednesday morn! Any advice would be very greatful Best wishes Lis

Hi all I have been seriously thinking of joining a karate club near me that teaches Wado-Ryu.What sort of style is this and do you think it would be best for me? Im 27 quite fit and I am finally going to do something about takeing up karate as its something I have been wanting to do for a very long time! Any advice on this would be very greatful Best wishes
