  1. Hi, I am in FortLee NJ. Anyone know of any Full contact dojos in North Jersey. Preferably Bergen county ? Thanks
  2. Any recommendations will be appreciated also
  3. Hi all, I have checked out many styles, many dojos in person, and countless hours of video and reading the forums. There's two misconceptions with Kyokushin and Shotokan. 1. All Shotokan stylists only train light- no contact...... Not true. Some Shotokan practitioners train full-contact and point sparing. Although not the norm- you will definitely hear of Shotokan guys training and participating in full contact tournaments. 2. All Kyokushin stylists are flat footed. Not all Kyokushin practitioners are stiff solid foot. Definitely not as "bouncy" as some other stylists for sure. But we move too! .. However, as with any stereotype, there's some truth to it. So I make sure I try to work on that speed as well. There's pros and cons to both point sparring and full contact. I think all styles should integrate each(with a focus on full contact ) Osu!
  4. Does anyone have any experience with these gi? I am looking for something that is sold and shipped from inside the u.s. Not willing to pay over $100 with shipping. I will order a couple gi from goodskarate in Pakistan when I can do a big order, but I need something for now. These from e-bogu seem well-priced. I have a Gi from Kyokushin Warrior that is 14oz top and bottom.... It's just just too stiff. I am now looking for a good 12oz. These mention that they are made for full contact and have the extra room and paying. These first two below, are they durable? The one with the moisture-whicking layer, HIDRITEX, seems interesting. I am curious if it feels like a heavyweight(12oz). Also, any experience with "Zen cotton pants" FC 2000 12oz chitin jacket and "100% Zen cotton pants". BUTOKU HIDRITEX 100% traditional cotton They also have this one below, but it says it's lightweight, so I probably won't be happy with that. MFC12 #11 hanpu cotton jacket and Zen cotton pants Thanks, Osu!
  5. Hi all, My name is Prince. I've studied Kyokushin Karate in Brooklyn, NY and then made a move to Northern Bergen County New Jersey. I've dabbled in a couple different arts and dojos, but I haven't found a new home as of yet. I am looking to connect with my fellow martial artists on this forum. It would be great to connect, and even potentially have training sessions with people in my area. Osu!
