Hi and thanks very much for your reply. I think I've decided to go with the Ronin. I was definitely leaning towards that way since the beginning. The cut looks very nice and the quality also looks very good, not to mention many other karateka seem to endorse it also. Thanks again for your help

Hey all. So I'm returning to the arts after quite a long break due to health. It's coming on winter down under and I'm in the market for a new super heavyweight gi. So far I've narrowed it down to two choices. The Ronin 16oz canvas http://www.roninbrand.com/Ronin-Karate?product_id=70 or the the 18oz canvas from Pacific Sports. http://www.pacificsports.com.au/martial-arts-uniforms/18oz%25252bcanvas%25252bgi-detail.html The only image I could find of the Pacific being worn is here. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/KARATE-UNIFORM-CANVAS-18oz-EXC-FIT-CUT-SIZES-5-6-7-REFUND-IF-NOT-HAPPY-/350844230526 I definitely prefer a heavier gi, but I haven't heard a lot about Pacific Sports, nor do they go into a lot of detail about the grade of canvas. The contrary can be said for Ronin. Has anyone had any experience with these? What is the cut like in comparison and is the quality of Pacific any good? Thanks in advance guys.
