White Belt

White Belt (1/10)

  1. In my TKD centre: its difficult to fail but it is possible and your performance in one grading affects your ability to progress. For example when you pass a grading you receive your tag or belt but are also given a rating h- high o- ordinary l- low if I receive a high in a grading then I only need a low in my next to grading to proceed. If I receive a low and do not receive high in the next grading I must train for longer before being allowed to grade again. This does not work in reverse, ie receiving two highs does not cut training times. at the moment its 4 months between gradings. I'm a yellow belt.
  2. I train with my university, twice a week , 90 minutes each session. Price - Free. The university allows use of the hall rent free and the instructors are from local clubs. Gradings are held in the local clubs , not the uni. gradings are €20 a go.
  3. I study itf tkd in Ireland. the grading goes a little something like this white - yellow tip yellow tip - green green tip - blue blue tip - red red tip - black I'm on green now so about 3 years and a little luck I'll be a black belt.
  4. I am quite new to TKD and have a few simple questions - 1. Are there are throws or grappling in TKD, I know my training is only beginning but later on is there an oppurtunity to learn throws etc. that are a part of TKD? 2. Are there matches that allow for the use of leg sweeps in sparring? Thanx in advance! Gelmir
