This question is for instructors and/or school owners. How would you react and what do you think of the Following situation/example. I had a visiting instructor at the martial arts school Where I teach. At the end of the class this visiting Instructor was talking to my students and during his Speech to my students he proceeded to tell them that a certain technique that I had taught them was Incorrect, and then proceeded to explain the proper Way to execute the technique. Now, regardless of Whether he was right, wrong, or indifferent I believe That his actions was very disrespectful. Now, to add insult to injury, (taking into consideration that this visiting instructor, a 4th Dan, was actually incorrect) my Sensei, the school owner was sitting there listening to this speech and did not correct this this visiting instructor as to his mistake or to his being disrespectful. Instead, my Sensei waited until later ( after the visiting instructor had left) and then told me to just not pay him any attention and to disregard what he had said to my students because he didn't understand the proper Way of executing that technique. Any input would be appreciated.

It has been several years since I researched the Ninja and the Wolf And I can't remember the website as I did not write it down, but this was all I could find and it was just a saying about the Ninja and the Wolf and it goes like this : The way of the Ninja is the way of the Wolf. Intelligent, adaptable, and always looking for a way to survive. I do not remember who wrote this or where I found it, but I thought it was A good descriptive saying about the Ninja.

1) what is a "t-leverage" 2) how do you verify the credibility of a 8th degree black belt in Kung Fu San Soo 3) In Kung Fu San Soo are you taught to fight With clinched fist (kinda like the old time Bare Hand Boxers of the 30's). 3-A) Would Fighting with clinched fist impede blocking and grabbing techniques.

Is Any Said Technique Singular??
hayesjames82 replied to sensei8's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Shodan melbourne Posted: The end result of a "technique" is a series of movements to create that end technique. Every part of you goes into the technique ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I think this is correct and this is my take on it. As others has posted on here that every part of effort of a technique is a technique in itself, I think is incorrect. Just my opinion. Here is my rationing. Arbitrary Question : What technique did Mike Tyson use to knock that guy out? Well lets see ? 1) Right straight punch 2) pivot on ball of rear foot - then along with a rotation of his hips - he extended his right arm - and at the last second just prior to contact with his opponents jaw he rotated his wrist as to add a snapping motion to his fist. Now for the discussion, a right straight punch is a right straight punch regardless of how it is delivered. I think that all that stuff are functions of the technique, which could be changed in any way to fit an individual, a situation, or even the mere method of execution of the technique itself. So, I say that a technique can survive on its own, if it is executed with speed, power, and accuracy . One good example would be a spear hand to the throat, if delivered with accuracy, speed and power would be very detrimental to the opponents well being. Another good example is , 2 years ago my daughter, who was 12 at the time and having been taking martial arts for about 4 years was at the beach with family and friends. You know that kids will be kids and just like most other kids she and her 8 year old cousin managed to get out of eyesight of the adults. She was accosted by a young boy around the age of 14. When the boy, whom she did not know made advances toward her she struck him in the abdomen with an elbow. She left the boy laying on the ground clutching his chest and gasping for air. I was attempting to scold her for not doing what she had been trained to do which was never to stop with just 1 technique, that she was always to execute 4 to 5 techniques to ensure that the threat had been eliminated, and her response was, and I quote "but daddy, it only took 1 technique". What else could I say. So I think that a single technique can very well survive on its own if delivered properly. -
What are some of your favorite Martial Arts or Karate Quotes : I will start with 3 of mine, I could probably list 50 or more as it is the we teach them to our advanced children's class, along with their meanings or interpretation 1) Where the head goes, the body will follow : 2) Every block is a blow, every blow is a break, and every break has a counter. 3) Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to go to his class. Off the top of my head I cant remember who actually quoted these, I just remember the sayings.

Kung Fu San Soo

Who that practices in Kung Fu San Soo can tell me what a "T-Leverage" is. I once asked an 8th degree and he acted like I had no idea what I was talking about, and he may most definitely be correct, as I have never had any training in that art. I done some pretty intense research into Kung Fu San Soo and acquired copies of the lessons of the 5 families that supposedly created San Soo. In reviewing the lessons that I acquired, I saw that technique "T-leverage" mentioned in several of them and I am kind of curious to what that technique is. -
There aren't a lot of post about Ninjitsu, So I was wondering Who can tell me what the correlation between the Ninja and the wolf is. Several years ago I did about 3 months of research (that was several hours each night for about three months) into what the correlation between the ninja and the wolf, because when you research Ninja's, you will run across many pictures or drawings that will show a Ninja and a wolf together. After some input from other martial artist I will post what I found in my research as I am kind of curious if someone else has this same information.....

hayesjames82 replied to hayesjames82's topic in BJJ, Judo, Jujitsu, Aikido, and Grappling Martial Arts
what are the names and definition of the following 12 locks ? also the following 11 locks with the 2nd and 6th being the same 4th and 8th being the same the number 3 lock being referred on the video as a can opener the number 10 sometimes being called a goose neck and the number 11 lock being a finger lock. -
Just curious, I thought that there were many martial arts that incorporated joint locks besides Jiu-Jitsu and grappling martial arts. Thanks for taking the time to read.
