you are exactly right about almost everything you said save one thing patrick I do feel im unbeatable, the thing you are mistaken about is that i dont say this out of ego. I have studied other styles namely kalari, mma and a small bit of goju ryu. I make that claim based on my own experience like i said this is a forum for discussion so here we discuss but i have always had challenges out there for any who will answer them. (These days the responses come few and far between) I take no offence to your estimation of things. Im still willing to prove our superiority (not necessarily that of my martial art but rather of my training lineage) against any and all comers and will be until the day I die.

I agree generally most takedown experts could take someone in an average horse stance down but if you look at traditional chinese methods of training the horse stance if done properly is supposed to be immovable. But lets say for instance someone is able to take me down in horse stance im not an mma sportsman i dont intend giving him the chance to get a second shot at a different angle etc i intend breaking some bones while he is maneouvreing into a change of angle and probably leaving him with no arms to effect a takedown at the very least

I would generally drop my horse stance to create an extremely low centre of gravity while simultaneously hammering my elbows down into his elbow joints thereby not allowing him to grab my legs. after that his entire face and head region should be exposed then I would (because I don't subscribe to mma rules) probably break his jaw.

While no mma fighter has agreed to fight me without rules, I have sparred against a few of them and like i said nobody has managed to take me down. I agree wearing protective gear would probably give them the security and safety they would need to step up against me, but after everything thats been said by mma experts about traditional martial arts being inferior to them I have a bone to pick and maybe its wrong but i want to hurt some of their heroes.

Though I believe one has to able to take me to ground to actually test my ground fighting skill. It hasnt happened yet. Also with regards to Mma somebody said test them by wearing goggles, large groin guards etc to avoid seriouss injury. My whole point is their training is not sufficient to allow them to compete with such skills and strikes allowed therefore as it is them who have to prove themselves in this situation why should we make these concessions. The arrogance comes from them and i dont see why we should compromise on making them eat their words. However i am open to such a competition if they are willing to nullify their tap outs and bjj locks i wont use groin strikes or eye gouges. However if you are going to claim an art form to be full contact please have the conviction and confidence in your art to actually go all out and fight properly without 1 million rules.

Managing Behavior in Children's Martial Arts Training

Thankfully I had great teachers and was able to benefit from their experience still i have copied your statement just to show to my classes junior instructors. I thank your for broaching this issue. -
Well said, while Im unfamiliar with your traditions, I will always accord respect to the training and rituals of another art form. I believe quality deserves respect.

I was trained in a system where no belts were used as my Sifu felt it "inconsequential" and yet I find using a belt system at my academy motivates my students and gives them a greater sense of pride. (not arrogance) we leave that at the door when we enter our studio.

Christians and the Martial Arts

Well said sir, Martial arts should be used to unite not divide. Today to the chagrine of many a traditional martial artist it is mostly used as an exercise or fitness training modality and there is definitely nothing wrong with that. Its the principle i use in teaching my taichi students. -

In total agreement with everybody here, My Sifu is now 79 and still going strong. We believe the older and more experienced you get the better you get.
