I have been searching around the internet about Shorinji ryu and have not found much about this style. I understand it is related to Shorin ryu but different. Can anyone state the differences or particulars about Shorinji Ryu? I understand this is a broad question but I am curious to find any details. My style I am learning is Kongo Zen Shorinji Ryu Son Ryu. It is not related to Shorinji Kempo at all. I have been researching this particular style and have not found anything like it so far. The head of this style is Reverend Yoshio Murasaki in Oahu. There are three locations, one in Oahu and two on the Big Island. Stylistically it looks very different. In Zenkutsu dachi (and all other stances) the front foot is not straight but heel pointed out. And there is also a large emphasis on the punch originating from the rolling of the tanden(Or koshi i think). Does anyone practice a similiar style? Thanks!
